That's the hardest part for me to swallow. I'm absolutely sick of them winning the league every year. Of all the years, this should have been the year they didn't win it as they aren't nearly as good as usual. I miss those Hollis Price/Ebi Ere led teams that had killer instincts and beat the Hinrich/Collison led teams in the early 2000's. That is what we are missing.

Hollis Price and Ebi Ere never won a regular season title. OU's only Big 12 title came in 2005, shared with Kansas. Hollis Price beat Kansas once out of four tries in the regular season.

They did of course win three straight tournaments (well, Ere wasn't here for the first).

There a reason Kansas wins the big 12 every year..They are the best program by far..just the way it is.

I don't know if gave it to them would be the terminology I would use, but I am with you. Bill Self might end up being a top 5 coach all time if he keeps this up for any longer. A decade of dominance in this league. Sigh

If Kansas had to play in Norman every year Hollis was there he prolly would have beat them more.

The Big 12 isn't the SEC, there is legit top level competition every year yet somehow they find a way to win it. Obviously Self is a great, great coach but it is absolutely maddening that they're going on 11 years in a row winning the best conference in college bball.

Big 12 is a good basketball conference but not the best one over the past 11 years. This year the Big 12 has incredible depth and a lot of good solid teams but it does not have elite basketball programs outside of Kansas. That's why they win it every year, a lot of good teams but not one that's ever good enough to take them down.

This comes down to the same question as in NCAAF with the sec. Duke North Carolina and Syracuse(yes they were in big east but I can't it towards ACC) have won national titles over the last 11 years so as far as that goes they are probably the best. Then you can make a case for the SEC as they've won 3(UF twice and Kentucky). These are all just off the top of my head. I'm sure I'm missing plenty. But KU is the only national title winner in our conference in a LOOOONG time. But we've always had plenty of teams in the tourney, make the sweet 16, elite 8, and final 4. So it's all in how you look at it honestly. Just like football the big 12 has teams EVERY WEEK that can jump up and bite you and you can't ever take a day off and you VERY RARELY will win on the road by way of blowout. The big 12 TOP TO BOTTOM is the best. But talking bet teams then the big 12 is not......IMHO. But everyone has their different opinions of what qualifies conferences as the "best".

I'm with you. The best conference has more than 1 or 2 teams. And the best team doesn't have to come from the best conference.

They had a bit of an advantage only playing the South teams once, with that said, props to them. Incredible streak.

Texas had Durant, KSU had Beasley, OU had Griffin - all 3 were the best players in the country and none of those teams could knock off KU.

KU kills you with their quality dept compared to the other Big XII teams.

The streak is amazing, but there is also a lot of luck involved. Durant's team only got KU once and when they did play, he got hurt right before halftime and couldn't continue (btw...that first half was one of the more impressive basketball performances I've ever seen). Blake got hurt and couldn't play in 2009.

All streaks have a factor of luck attached.

Kansas hasn't won the championship yet. Big 12 tournament hasnt even started.

Just like Kentucky hasn't won the national championship yet.

Wouldn't it be funny if Kentucky were the first number 1 seed to lose to a 16. I have no expectation of it happening but that would be classic.

Very good chance we beat KU in 2009 and win the league if not for Blake's concussion. We were 11-0 in the league before he got hurt and missed the KU game two days later.
