Brownell, Clemson Basketball have two more staff vacancies

Clemson head basketball coach Brad Brownell now has two more vacancies on his staff, Tigerillustrated.com has learned.

McKay was the general manager for the Tigers and worked under Brownell for 13 of the past 16 seasons, and followed Brownell here from Wright State in 2010.

That group included five four-star transfer additions, including the team's leading scorer this season, Georgia transfer RJ Godfrey, along with Nevada transfer Nick Davidson (No. 47 in the portal last offseason), Middle Tennessee transfer Jestin Porter (No. 168 in the portal) and Utah Valley transfer Carter Welling (No. 169 in the portal)."

Looks to have an eye for talent that's not highly rated. And good on Denny for putting the money where his mouth is..

I think a GM is way overdue. Again, I think Roger is trying to take the next year to make the job attractive to a new coach. If Porter benefits, so be it.

I sure hope he isn’t reporting to Porter. Given his track record with assistant coaches, we would probably be looking for a new GM before Christmas!
