That any logical fan had penciled in as a win when the season started. Yes, the loss last night hurts b/c I thought it was a game we could win. I see no reason this team can't finish right where most would have predicted, had they known we'd be without Newell. The HIGH predictions at that point were 9-10 wins. If you figure Newell is worth two games, that drops us down to 7-8 wins. I bet this team finds a way to get to 6, at least.

I still choose to believe we are a better team then we've seen in Big 12 play so far. It's easy to blame the mounting losses on playing better teams, but Arkansas, Houston, and possibly even ORU were probably as good as that OSU team last night. And so was Cincy, a team we should have beat. We are in a funk. And when you have limited scoring options, and zero bench, funks become worse then they otherwise would need to be. We'll get some home games against teams that can't out-talent us (Mizzou/KU/Baylor), and we'll start looking like a team that is improving again.

LK has to find a way to get Cam back to contributing though. And Neal, for that matter. If they are going to play like this all season, it will be a long season. Maybe Blair will start getting some more of Cam's minutes, but whoever is playing, has to knock down some shots.

Although I knew going in that anything is possible with Bedlam, last night's game was one I thought we would win. The opportunity to beat OSU on the road was better than what we will face on Saturday in trying to defeat a very good K-State team. That is one game in the loss column that I didn't count on.

It will not get any easier from here. If this team doesn't find a way to improve on that performance, and do it quickly, this will be a very long season!

I agree that many would have predicted an 0-3 start though I think most of us are using the 9-9 league benchmark to have a shot to get in the NCAA Tournament.

That is and probably was wishful thinking from the outset because now OU had to win one road game to stay at potential 9-9 and last night was a winnable road game.

Now the reality of getting an NIT bid and building for next year is more realistic at this point, though I hope I am wrong.

Well, we lost the first game by 40. The next by 20. The next by 10. I guess that means we'll lose by 5 to KSU and then beat Tech!
