Weekly Polls Thread Week 7

Bad news for us. Hoping Louisville can stay Q1

he is talented but he has been legitimately terrible for them this season ..

What’s the deal there? It looks like they removed all his posts. Very strange.
them removing his posts is likely just them being soft ..(which they are .) ..

my guess is they could not afford to keep him .. but they don't want to say that .. so they will just pretend he never existed ..

Lusk wrote a very complimentary post about them. So if true, that is extremely soft. My bosses at work take everything personally too when Someone tries to better their life and leave, some people are just wired that way I guess

Seems more accurate to say he has SHOT terribly. It seems strange that you would say this about a guy averaging 12 and 6 (plus 2 assists) while getting so sensitive when Sam is criticized.

Might be a Rivals policy? I'm not sure.

FWIW, Thune had a very complimentary tweet this morning about Lusk. Don't think there's any bad blood there.

please show me where i have been "so sensitive" ... those shooting numbers on that volume = a losing player ..

I mean, during the tourney, on at least two occasions, you immediately replied with praise for Sam when I posted that he had been killing us. Once, you pointed to a single assist that he had dished out, and when he threw a pass directly to a Louisville player late in the game when we had the ball up five, you responded that he had made a good defensive play to force a stop. On another occasion, when I said that he is offering is nothing offensively, you responded by pointing to his great offensive rebounding (which, I would note, was nonexistent in Atlantis, i.e., once we stopped playing JV squads).

The Louisville guy was off to a bad shooting start through seven games. His FT percentage and last year's 3 PT numbers indicate his shot would likely have come around, but even if he stayed in a season-long slump, he is much better than any big we have. It's a big loss for them.

those shooting number are at a "lower level" how do you know they will translate??
and second

if his shooting numbers stayed the same all season he would be the worst Big on our team ..

Do guys defend FTs differently in power conferences?

And if you truly believe the latter point, it shows that you can't objectively view Sam (or Wague, apparently). Sam is such a terrible offensive player that teams don't even have to guard him. He just went through the first three games against real competition averaging two points and 2.67 rebounds. His points and boards combined barely exceeded his foul total.

TS% of .502 and eFG% of .404

would both be way way way below any of our top 9 players ... (and that includes all 3 centers) .. ..

So your view of basketball is that a player's worth is based solely on shooting numbers? So if a guy gets 15 boards, blocks three shots, plays great defense, passes the ball well, but goes 1-6, he had a bad game? I guess Sam has cracked the code -- just never attempt a shot that isn't a dunk or layup, and you're automatically a stud.
