in Denver and Faried would be in OKC.

I'm sure no one else here will like it and you'll say we wouldnt be big enough ... but I dont think anyone could stop OKC if Faried were in our starting 5.

Not sure how I'd pull that off. But we'd make it happen some how.

So you want the team leading the NBA in scoring to trade defense for offense?

I would like for OKC to address their issues inside. They would get much more out of Faried than Perkins.

Just watch the games. Do you think OKC is as strong as they could be? They have issues.

Of course not, and every team has issues, but that "trade" doesn't make much sense for them. They already have a 4 that is better than Faried. Is Faried going to guard the Gasol's, Howards, Randolphs, Griffin's, Jordan's in the playoffs? Perkins play on Bynum was huge in the Lakers series last year.

The Thunder are likely to add a backup 5 for the stretch run, someone like Jermaine O'neal, who can actually guard 5's. Unless Thabeet proves he can take that run, it's a spot they should pursue.

Now if you told me the Thunder had a free pass to the Finals and the Heat, I'm with you. But I don't think the Thunder increase their chances of getting out of the West with that "trade."

That's a reasonable argument. I think Perkins is a luxury that they can win without, but the point you make is reasonable.

I think Faried is awesome. He has the same energetic knack in his game that Rodman brought, but without the baggage. You'd be hard pressed to convince me that any 4's play better save Love. I mean ... obviously if KD plays the 4 I will acquiesce, but that's kinda out of position for him. I figure you're talking about Serge who IS playing well and keeps getting better, but Faried is better than Serge. They're different players. Faried is the better overall player. Together in the paint they'd be awesome for OKC.

You most certainly may be right about Thabeet and finding another 5. My point is I think we could be stronger by going another route.

i don't think it is a given that faried is better than serge. they are different players but serge is really progressing fast

Ibaka is unquestionably better for the Thunder than Faried would be. If the Thunder ever lost Ibaka's rim protection they would be in huge trouble. He covers up a lot of defensive breakdowns. He's a way better fit for the Thunder. I don't think Faried even averages a block a game. The only thing Faried does slightly better is rebound.

that's just plain wrong. instead of grabbing some stats why don't you watch Faried play more and get back to us. there is NO COMPARISON between which of these two plays better - and that's Faried.

Now I like what Serge does and the progress he has made. He is a big component to this teams' success and I am not suggesting it's one or the other. I want both. That said, however, Faried is a much better basketball player than Serge.

Much better? Tell me why. What does he do better?

it's not a slam on Serge, Faried just has a better basketball IQ. He's been playing the game longer.

He rebounds better, he moves better, he plays the P&R better, he moves better, he doesn't break off of his weakside defense to get a block, he moves better, he's more adept at getting the long board, he moves better, his energy level is about 100x higher, he moves better, better outlet passes, sees the play coming, not as apt to completely sell on cut fakes, I would say doesn't leave his feet as much but he was burned a couple of times on this last game.

It doesn't take very long watching Faried to like his game.

True, but I think you might be forgetting that Faried was a huge reason why the Nuggets took the Lakers to 7 games last year. And for comparison's sake, I think if Faried and JaVale McGee could give the Lakers problems, then Ibaka and Faried certainly could, too. But I do agree that based on the pieces and the Thunder's frontcourt opposition in the West, this trade wouldn't give OKC a drastic improvement.

Regardless, the only way the Nuggets' management would ever agree to trading Faried for Perkins is if they were smoking the state of Colorado's legal marijuana. That trade would make no sense whatsoever for them.
