This just negates that win down in Waco. Bad shooting, giving up boards to that tiny white dude, weak missed ally oops, and only 44 points at home w 2 mins in a huge game. Come on.....

WOW, Way over the top brother. You need to put the beers down OR the computer, LOL. The team that just beat us by ONLY 2 points is a top 25 team and a good one at that. Chill out, Lon has even better players sitting out this year on the bench AND coming in from recruiting.

We are gonna be a constant top 25 team starting next year - I LOVE Lon!!!!!!!!

It wasn't a choke...you can either say the better team won or they are a very bad matchup for us....maybe both.

not a choke! K-state is likely the 2nd best team in the league with better talent and a well coached defense. The fact we had almost 10 mins without a FG and still almost won shows how far we've come. We had guys shoot great against Baylor. K-States defense is the the best in the league. We'll be fine. Wish Hornbeak would shoot a little.

It was a terrible, terrible game to watch, but KSU is a half-decent team. It's not a bad loss.
It's just frustrating that we lost to them twice and they're not really any better than us.

Choking is what we almost did at Baylor (that and the fact that the refs let them get away with many fouls).

This was just getting exposed by a team that has more quickness and size than us. We either need a big that can post them up or a guard that can beat them off the dribble and we have neither.

With the win at Baylor this was not as critical but I do think we need to win at ISU or at home against KU.

Gtfo. Ksu is better team then is right now - on the bright side it never shoulda been anywhere near that close we got outplayed bad for way too long a stretch of that game. On the bad side coach waited way too long to bring grooms in.

Agreed on the Grooms comment. I think most of the time Lon will outcoach the other guy, but I am wondering if Grooms has some issues off the court that has kept him on the bench the last few games. We will be fine though!!

did you watch the same game I did? this group of kids is coming together, KState played great def today but the Sooner could have folded when they were down 9 but they kept fighting and working hard. I like this group, only wish we could have everyone back next year.

I guess we'll be fine. Definitely improving. However, I thought we took a step back today. Lost a chance to beat a top 25 team, solidify our NCAA tourn chances and gain much needed crowd support and momentum. Instead we threw out a total stinker offensively, lost our home court and bored everyone watching to tears. The season is far from over but we lost out on an opportunity. Hopefully we can pull another out on the road somewhere.

Thank you. This is EXACTLY what I am saying. What are the goals of this team? To be better than the joke of a team we put on the court the last two years? Well then, it's a success. We are better.

We are a long way from being in the NCAA tournament. This team needs to grow up fast.

SFA was a bad loss...this one isn't! Was this game winnable? Yes! Did we blow a chance to stamp our team into the NCAA tournament? Yes! But as of today, we are still in the tournament.

Only thing I was disappointed in was M'Baye. He had a great game last week and this game not so much. He's not being consistent.

I'll also say I don't consider this a "choke". If we were the better team and a clear favorite to win the game...maybe. But K State was better. If this team rebounds and puts one of the next 2 in the win column I'll be impressed.

As a fan, I was disappointed in the home loss, but I remain very optimistic about the future.

Talking about exposed. I thought OUr youth at guard was exposed. The K-State guards are stronger and more mature. Physically stronger (as you would expect for older players) and stronger with the ball. Stronger handles.

The best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores. The three Sooner freshmen guards are gaining wonderful experience that will help them to make winning plays in the future. It was encouraging to see Isaiah Cousins make two 3-pointers against that tough defense.

The title of this thread is silly, and melodramatic. That was a hard fought defensive battle, where players on both teams played extremely hard. Going into the game, K-State led the conference in FG shooting percentage, yet the Sooners defense held them under 40%.

The 2012 Sooners have caused fan expectations to go up by accomplishments like the road win at Baylor. As fan expectations increase, the emotional bubble bursts a bit louder when adversity hits. Just relax and enjoy the ride.

IMHO, if this team is to get into the NCAA tournament, then it is up to the seniors on this team to make the plays to get them there. This is their last chance. I was hoping for more production from Pledger, but 2 points in 20 minutes was not enough yesterday.

I believe we have a fine coach and the Sooners will be OK. OU lost to the 2nd best team in the conference. The Sooners just have to continue working to get better. I think they will.

I am proud of this team. The game yesterday was the first time in a long time that the LNC had the feel of a "big time" game. I feel confident that there will be many more in the coming seasons.

Go Sooners!

James Fraschilla and I don't appreciate that... :chestram2:

They are #18 and #21 in the polls, so I'd hope that qualifies as half decent. They are a better team than us at this point in the season. But, it was a winnable game. Nonetheless, we can learn from it and regroup. I still like our chances of making the tournament and I think our final 8 games are quite winnable.

The problem with this team is that the veterans are so inconsistent. You can Count on any of them to hit a shot. One game mbaye can't miss, the next he disappears. One game pledger goes for 30, the next he has two. Hell pledger did it in halves in the Baylor game.

This team goes as buddy hield goes in my opinion. I think I'm just ready for the "Capel guys" to move on. They just don't seem to have that ice in their blood, "onions!" factor to them.

Seniors like pledger and osby need to make sure they get a shot off. They have to work harder when they are being keyed on by defenses. Having said that, I think I'd rather Hield take a last second shot than Pledger.

I don't understand posts like this.

You can't call Pledger and Osby inconsistent, and say the team goes as Hield goes, knowing that Osby and Pledger lead the team in scoring, and that Hield isn't even third on that list.

If you look at Ken Pom's efficiency ratings.....Osby and Pledger are WAY more efficient than anybody else on the team. It really isn't even close.
