what do you think?

If Kruger comes up with a mediocre team one of these years and wants to take them to the NIT. It will certainly be OK with me. I'll watch every game and hope that they put on a good show. But, I'll still be embarrassed for them.

Gary what i should have said at first is would you rather go 13-18 like capels 2010 and 2011 teams and miss everything or would you rather go 18 and 13 heading into the NIT if we get to 20-12 we should make NCAA

That is a false choice. It is never OK for OU to miss the NCAA tourney. It is a failed season when they do. No end of season reward has been earned or is deserved. If the team wins 18 games and misses the tourney, my first response is to get back in the gym and figure out how to win 2 more games next season.

The NIT is nothing. It means nothing. It accounts for nothing. It is a bunch of mediocre teams playing meaningless exhibition games for the benefit of the promoters. There is no honor or glory in even successful participation in such a made up event.

It can never be the mindset of the OU Basketball Program that making it to the NIT is OK or is in some way accomplishing something. It isn't. Our program sunk so low that some of the players on last years team thought that it was.

Like I said in the previous post. It is OK with me if Kruger ever takes a team to the NIT in the hopes of tightening up some loose play or improving in some manner. It is unlikely the some meaningless post season exhibition games would accomplish much. But, I would certainly wish him the best in those efforts.
