We have all watched this team play this year, been very encouraged at times and very disappointed other times. That happens sometimes with very young teams because they are so inconsistent. In the Big 12, you can look very bad quite often.
Right now, we don't even know what personnel are going to be back (WW, TG seem to be questions at this point) so it's hard to say what nucleus of players are back.
But it should be obvious to these kids that winning games at the Big 12 level is about getting stops, rebounds, and competing. All this team did was try to win the games by scoring the ball. If they figure out that stops, rebounding, and competing are just as important as offense, this group has a chance. If that does not happen, then forget it and OU is destined to be a bottom feeder in a very tough league for a long time.
