The obvious, the Sooners are far below the top teams. Baylor' girls are bigger, stronger and just as fast as OU's. They also crash the boards, move the ball around quicker and shoot better.

I suspect more is expected from them and they expect more from themselves. We're nice, Baylor is nasty, not in the dirty play sense, they play aggressively and do whatever the refs will let them do.

I thought we played hard, we just aren't recruiting the same level player. I just don't see much improvement either. They'll have a good game then fall back into their error prone personality.

If we want to get back into a Final Four caliber team, the coaches have to change course and recommit to being champions. I haven't seen it the past few years.

I have lost my enthusiasm for women's basketball. I support them and pull for them, but turned off the game(Baylor) early because we are not competitive. This year is like so many of the last 10+ years. Even with the Paris twins we couldnt get enough player(s) around them to win it all. I get too frustrated because I think we could be competitive at a Final Four level fairly consistently. We seem to be able to in several other sports.

Agree 100%. My friends and I, all OU grads and hardcore Sooners, are rapidly losing interest in the women's bball team and program. Used to go to almost all the home games. Now, if it is convenient and nothing else to do. Team, program, and coaches are mired in mediocrity and not likely to change. In the mean time the program continues to sink. Unfortunate. Had a chance to be a tier I program, now struggling to be tier II. Apparently the forces that be are satisified with average at best. And, I might add, SC is not in the same league as a coach as Skeletor.

The game has changed. Better coaches and players. Fewer under the radar players. Stronger AAU system. Tougher to compete for good players.

Our offense is largely attempted penetrations and back off and very little movement elsewhere. Also feed the post which didn't work last night because Cox who was a deer in the headlights early in the season just stuffed ViVi on almost every attempt.

If you watch Connecticut and Stanford you see mostly ball movement and movement away from the ball. One big difference from our team is they simply have better athletes to execute their offense.

I do think Sherri is a good coach in a number of ways. Her team hustled their tails off last night even when there was no hope. But I do believe she needs to retool a number of things. It is easy for the game to pass you by. Happened to Bobby Knight who was one of the best.

Cox was amazing vs OU... She's going to be a handful for the next few years, really wish she had picked OU.

I'll agree with that. She manhandled VIvi who is one of the two, if not the, best player on the team.

Exactly. UConn force the change. There is no one Edwards size on the top teams.

We used to get tough, athletic girls, like Amanda Thompson, Leah Rush, and the Paris twins. ViVi is tough, but not athletic and it showed. Nancy tries to lean on her opponent, but really can't move anyone. We use to recruit guards who made even the most impossible layups, but this group is probably 50% once every 4 games.

What I can't figure is why we don't see the obvious areas for improvement when it comes to athletic fundamentals. I would start with her running. There is no real stride. She takes lots of short shuffles, which is slow and uses more energy. Outperform S&C coach should be on this already. Then there's her tactical errors where she leaves the basket to defend resulting in open space behind her.there's her lack of positioning generally reaching over people trying to rebound. She could get away with this in high school, but average college post players can out rebound her.

Final concern. Nobody, coach or player seems to be angered by an ass whipping. Seems that playing hard is the goal they do) but playing smart isn't required.

I not a women basketball expert but from what I see is the gap between baylor and OU is wider now than in years past. OU is at a stand still and baylor has upped the ante

It's not the gap between Baylor and OU - It's the gap between Baylor and everyone else. Baylor is now the Women's Big 12 version of Kansas.

Sure, but we are concerned about OUr team. We were once that dominant team. We want it again. The fact that Baylor is also routing other teams is not a consolation prize.

To be sure, this is a good team! However, it isn't great (at least not yet). 3rd place isn't good enough.
