The guy that said low d1 contributor is probably right. Recruiting is funny though. Their are some NAIA kids that could be factors on the D1 level. I think the Curran Scott kid is not as good as Lazenby, but he just got an offer from Tulsa.
He would not be even a top 25 player in 6A. For example, @ Mustang, he would be 6th or 7th man (they had a really good 6'5 forward who is going to Oklahoma Christian who came off the bench), @ Edmond Santa Fe, would be probably the 3rd or 4th best player, @ PC West would be 6th or 7th man, @ Edmond Memorial would be probably the 3rd or 4th best player and @ Norman North, who didn't even make the 6A state tournament, he would be their 4th best guard. And we haven't even got to the East side yet.
He put up 40 against Shake in the TOC
he had 28, and they lost by 20. Also lost to Atoka in that same tournament by 18 or so. Shake had 50 points in that game and Owasso seemed pretty disinterested. Not bashing the kid, he was probably the best player in class A obviously, just saying he is probably an Naia or D2 player at best.
I agree he's best suited for NAIA or D2, but to say he'd be the 7th best player on some of those teams was a little much.
I said he would be the 6th or 7th best player for Mustang and maybe PC West, not "some of those teams", and Its actually not a "little much". Which of these Mustang players would you put him in front of BCS? Jakolby Long (super 5 w multiple D1 offers, Austin Meyer (6'9 Center), Curtis Haywood (probably Mustang's best player w Multiple D1 offers), Aubrey Johnson (6A State tournament MVP), Terrell Williams (Starting Point Guard), Geoff Hightower (Mustang 6th man, Oklahoma Christian signee). If you look at this objectively, your answer would probably be none of these, which makes him at best, Mustang's 7th best player, and they have a couple other kids off the bench who were pretty good as well. Again, no slight to this kid, just facts. Its night and day from A to 6A.
Terrell Williams. Based on talent alone that's pretty easy, but does he buy in to be pass 1st and work his butt off on defense if he's on that team? Idk
Just based on the video I watched, I'm not sure he'd enjoy trying to bring the ball up the floor against Terrell, much less try to guard him. Now, he could post Terrell up, but he wouldn't get to as a guy like Curtis would make his night miserable.
He might get a chance, but I'm betting he's a D2 or NAIA player.
Crossover you are rediculous. He'd start for any team in the state. Easily!!! And be one of their best offensive players. He's the kind of kid that the "low DIs" come into the ncaa tourney and kick our asses with way too often!!! Anybody remember, who was it, North or South Dakota State?? He dunks all the time in games, is a very good ball handler, and can shoot it better than anyone we have on our roster day in and day out. And before anyone accuses me of being family or friends, Ive never met the kid or spoken a word to him in my life. Just get sick of some of these wanna-be-experts gettin on here and acting like they know exactly what level a kid can play at. Explain to me why so many lower D1s beat the power conference schools with these kids. I'll go ahead and explain it to you. They take a kid like Ty that is maybe a half step slower, black OR white btw, who is more skilled and smarter than your high D1, and beat people pretty consistently!! Sorry for the rant, couldn't help myself.

I'm not talking about him playing against Mustang (they would get beat by 50), I'm stating I believe he would start over Williams since that was the question that was directed towards me. He has low d1 offers, but like most have said most of the better backcourts in d2 are better than the low d1 guys.
Yes he is best suited for D2 or NAIA I've already posted this.
To clarify I assume you meant I am ridiculous. Secondly I forgot to mention that Terrel Williams was 6a Large West Allstate, and I believe he was also the defensive player of the year in his conference. I guarantee you Terry Long would not play Ty lazenby over Terrel Williams. As I said in an earlier post he would be their seventh or eighth best player. This notion that he has Division I offers is probably not true either. If he has Division I offers why aren't they listed anywhere? There is nothing on the Internet anywhere that says he has a Division I offer from anyone. Guys with Division I offers don't go to Tonkawa.
