Whats the story on Ty Lazenby

I happened to talk to his aau coach once in a while. I know for a fact he had 5 D1 offers at one point. But they were all a ways away, and with mom having cancer, he decided to stay home. This is exactly what I'm talkin about. Makes my point exactly. Some of you act like you have all the facts, or give your opinion as a fact. Big difference!!! Please state your opinion like it's just that, your opinion. Drives me nuts on this board. And it's a small minority of you, but it's annoying as he77!!!

Not that it matters, but some people's definition of "offer" is different than others...and AAU coaches can be the biggest offenders of stretching the facts as it relates to that. Not saying that's happening here, but I find it hard to believe considering the known offers he does have and watching highlights of him.

Yeah, the odds of the kid turning down full D1 offers is very, very slim.

Ya.. no one ever chooses not d1. So think the aau guy is full of it

Long and Haywood not shooting well last weekend, both are over rated. Especially Long, volume shooter with no right hand. Him making Super Five was a complete joke, not even the best player on his team. I am sure his daddy is out recruiting more players to pass to him this year. I like Haywood's daddy's job at Mustang of parking lot duty all day. Mustang will do anything to recruit and win. Long's last year is this year.

I agree with the assessment of Long...the rest of your rant is childish.

It's weird that mustang has become that school.

I know of several kids that turned down D1 offers out of state to stay closer to home and play NAIA and D2!!! Again, people saying things when they just have no clue!!! Happens more often than you'd think. Have also talked to kids that went away to play smaller D1 that say they'd have stayed closed to home if they had it to do over again!!

Ive heard of No d1 offers for Lazenby but there could be 5.

But Rolands Seth Youngblood turned down several to go d2 so he could play right away and his family could watch him.

And if I'm not mistaken, didn't Seth lead his team the the D2 championship his freshman year. That's a kid that could have helped any D1 school in the state. No way you can convince me that he wasn't a better prospect than a couple of guys on the OU team. Or guys that just left the team!! See how I didn't mention any names there!! Lol

What are you talking about?

UAFS lost in the first round last season and didn't even make the national tournament this year.

I have no idea how he did. Seth could play. If Stevie could play d1 then Seth could too. I actually liked Seth better. Great finals game their senior year.

He had a very very good year for a freshman.

Seth is a Mid Major Because He Can Not play the 1.

My point is, there are mid-major kids playing at power conference schools, and there are kids at mid-majors that no doubt should be playing "up." OU had 3 on the roster last year that I have doubts about being a high-major guy on scholarship at a school like Oklahoma. Seth is a better player than at least a couple of kids on our team. No doubt in my mind about that. And he could play the point in a pinch. No, I wouldn't want him as our starting PG, but he could be an effective combo guy. I'm like Coach, I thought he was a better all-around player than Stevie. I didn't think Stevie was ever gonna be a real good 1. He's a really small 2, ala Keaton Page.

Noc-enid is pathetic basketball. Anyone can score that there. Some kids i played against played there and did the same and i never even knew they were there.

No one cares about your small school heros

I wouldn't say it's pathetic, lol. But there is no doubt that Juco ball isn't near the quality of say 10-15 years ago due to prep schools, etc.

Lazenby is a nice player and was Enid's best option. He is definitely a volume shooter, however. I see him as an NAIA player going forward.
