When do you think we will hear back from the NCAA

regarding the Gallon situation?

I'm guessing August and I also don't think it will be anything more than a slap on the wrist (probation and maybe a loss of one scholarship for 1 year).

I asked Guerin Emig that same question during the coaching search. He said that he was surprised that OU hadn't already heard and that it should be any day.

I am guessing over the summer. I wondered if there was a connection between LK not using the last 2 'ships and the expectation of an NCAA ruling.

Funny how Kelvin got OU nearly the same thing, and people claim he killed the program. You are right, that is not anything to worry about.

Weren't we already on probation, still? That is the only thing that scares me into thinking they might hit us with a bit more.

I am paranoid about the national communists against athletes and OU. I cant help but think that the delay in a ruling has been deliberately occasioned as a part of the penalty inasmuch as it naturally and inevitably results in negative recruiting and makes prospective recruits nervous. What makes it even more certain is the fact that there is NO dispute as to the facts whatsoever therefore no excuse for a delayed ruling. I long ago lost respect for that organization.

Kelvin didn't kill the program, in fact he may have saved the program by leaving. If he would have stayed at OU and continued to do the same things (which he later did at Indiana), we would have ultimately gotten a sledgehammer dropped on our heads by the NCAA.

That's like thanking someone that just beat you over the head with a bat for stopping before they killed you.

Hardly anyone claims that.

Nonsense.

I've read it a thousand times.....how those sanctions and probation handcuffed Capel, and made it impossible to recruit.

It's a frickin joke that we haven't heard anything by now. A year??!!?? really?? If you can't find any solid evidence...then move on.

Nope.

It's just a handful of people that hero-worship Capel who say that. Hardly anyone actually claims or believes it.

If you read it a thousand times, it's from ten people saying it a hundred times each.

With the NCAA & certian schools like(OU) somewhere around 2020!!:D

So, this actually happened??? I was unaware the NCAA ruled on the Gallon situation. j/k

As many have mentioned, no one believes the NCAA issues KS was involved with BY THEMSELVES hampered JC's ability to succeed. There are many, like me, that believe the NCAA stuff (limited time off campus and loss of a schollie (right)), him leaving at such a late date and the subsequent release of almost an entire class were definitely a tough way for JC to have to begin his tenure at OU.

In the end, JC's inability to evaluate talent that would stay on campus was his downfall. The initial road blocks he faced just left very little wiggle-room for failure. His NCAA issues, like KS's, were/are a blip on the radar. If OU gets more than a slap on the wrist, there IS a conspiracy going on - if you look at the NCAA's history over the last few years and how they've dealt with much more severe infractions...

What is the NCAA's history in regards to teams already on probation?

August is when we are scheduled to hear.

We hope nothing but are keeping one scholarship open just in case.

You seem to have a lot of inside info. What is your source? Not asking you to name names, just give us some general info.
