This was a really big win for us tonight, but I wanted to look at the bigger picture of where we stand in the conference:
Kansas - it's looking more and more like they are winning their 11th straight....gag.
ISU - I still don't understand how they lost at Tech, but they are the most skilled team in the league and present matchup issues for everyone.
WV - they are a horrible matchup for us with their depth/press. But their schedule is backloaded. There are more losses in their near future.
Baylor - With less talent this year, they are actually playing more as a team. They are a good team.
K-State - When Foster's attitude is right, they are a fairly decent team. We really need to win up there.
OSU - limited offensively. They are going to need a couple of more big upsets in order to get to 9-9 in conference. Bubble team at best.
Texas - they are descending. A dysfunctional team that lacks consistent and quality guard. They are a bubble team and can't afford to finish worse than 8-10 or they would be left out of the tournament.
TCU - improved and playing teams tough. Can't take these guys for granted.
Tech - bad
I think we are in good shape as far as a top-5 finish in conference is concerned. We have the upper hand over Baylor and Texas, but we really need to win at K-State to push them further down the standings. If this team can avoid hiccups to TCU and Tech, we have a good chance at finishing with at least 11 wins. And that would put us in no worse than 4th and likely fighting for 3rd. 2nd isn't out of the question IF we could get to 12 wins.
