Who Will Be The Next Team USA Coach?

Really. It was just in the last week that they were talking about it on a telecast and saying he would. I don't know why he doesn't just retire. I want him to enjoy the rest of his life and not be coaching when he's 78.

Probably Doc Rivers or Greg Popovich, with Doug Collins having an outside, sentimental chance. The next coach will have NBA ties from what I understand. As far as college coaches go, I think Bill Self would be a great choice.

Pop or Rivers have to be top 2 from the NBA with Self or Izzo as top collegiate options; Boeheim may get a shot since he was K's top assistant though unless he retires or isn't interested

Boeheim said he was done when K was.

I doubt it would be Self. Those international officials don't know who KU is.

Colangelo will pick the right person. He takes this stuff very seriously.

I just read on CBS sports that his top choice is ... Coach K. Said he wasn't fazed by his statement and would be talking with him about 2016 after Duke's season is over.

Popovich would be a great choice, but there is some bad blood between him and Colangelo. I hope that doesn't get in the way, because Pop's coaching ability and understanding of the international game (they were ahead of most of the league in scouting and stashing Euro prospects, and half their current team is international) would make him a home run hire.
