Why no talk about the Butler coach?

what evididence do you have that proves ou is a better job? and don't give me the tradition crap. our tradition hasn't done jack for us the last 2 years.
You are wanting someone to have to explain to you why Oklahoma is a better job than Butler? Since it is undoubtedly you who is in the minority with such an opinion (although I'm sure you have a lot of OU apologists on this board who will support you) you should be the one proving Butler is a better job. I played against Butler for 4 years and their gym sucks, their locker rooms suck, their facilities suck. They have struck gold with Stevens and some good players, but there is way too much to just ignore when trying to compare the two jobs.

So you judge a program by its most recent two seasons and nothing else matters?

By those standards, yes, Butler's a better job. By what most people would consider more reasonable, well-founded standards, it's nothing of the kind.

I love Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Which would you rather be?:

Team A: A good coach, good players, and a small yet full gym for their games, two final fours in the last two years, but apparently bad practice facilities and locker rooms.

Team B: No coach, NCAA trouble, bad players, a dark-multi purpose-big gym with a fan base that shows up only to see "other" teams, two final fours in 23 years, with good practice facilities and locker rooms.

To simply judge a college basketball program entirely over the last two year, as you have done with Butler, is ridiculous. So I guess Baylor is better too!!

ok i'll bite. Why is butler a better job? Good fans, Main show in town, Very high national interest, 2 straight final fours, not in NCAA trouble, bball strong area of the country..... do i need to go on?

Don't get me wrong guys i'm a huge OU bball fan. I went to most of the home games this year and i love and went to the school and follow whatever team they field. But i also call it like i see and to me Butler is a better job than OU right now.

Butler is a better job right now and will be for the forseeable future. It's not even close.

I think some of you mistake job for program. Oklahoma is a better program, and always will be, but as it stands where would you rather work right now?

I'm talking about the job of the head coach of the basketball team at OU vs. the job of head basketball coach at Butler. That's it and that's all. I see Butler as a superior job at this point.

and yes i consider Baylor a better job than OU at this point.

Although i will say, all it takes is one Blake Griffin to change that. haha...

If you win there is no such thin as the main show in town. If you didn't suck balls the last 2 years we wouldn't be complaining about attendance that much. When we had Blake Griffin, OSU was till drawing well, the Hornets where here and drawing well, and OU was drawing pretty good for the most part. There's more than enough people in the OKC area to go to a bunch of events at once.

Where have you been for the last decade? We've had attendance problems for years...

Nick,

I'm not saying the arena can't be filled if you aren't the main show cuz obviously thats false. I'm just saying that since Butler is the main show that more folks will be interested. OU obviously is having attendance issues and we had them even when we were good.

Some years we do, some years we don't. Usually it's when we win we don't had attendance issues we lose we do. Everyone has trouble filling up early in the season. I think I read one article from Duke, UNC, Kansas etc saying complaining about the fans at least once a year. But that's early season and doesn't matter. When we had Blake we sold out pretty good. Remember the Davidson game? That was early in the season and was an amazing crowd.

Since when did Butler Basketball become the main thing in Indy? Are the Colts and Pacers not still located there? How about that race they do in a few weeks? Butler may be the trendy thing to do in Indy right now but they are far from the main thing. I would bet Notre Dame football and Indiana basketball get more ink in the local papers than does Butler on a regular basis.

the colts i will give you even though they play during only half of butlers season. the pacers sucks though. the "race" is only 1 weekend per year and it takes place after the NCAA bball season is over.
