Why was Cade in the game?

When Cade came back in, didn't he replace Honore?
Really? People think that Barry would have been the better option for the last 6 minutes?

Should have been CJ and Fitz down the stretch imo. I would have liked to see Cade at the wing guarding Markel Brown (who hadn't been aggressive offensively) with Blair and Pledge as the other wings.

Hindsight is definitely 20/20 though.

Cade had to let one of OSU bruts score on a lob pass and that was waaaaaaaaaay too easy.

If Cade makes a couple of those three's all is forgotten and we're thankful he "let them score", instead of fouling. But, he missed them and now we play the blame game. Yay. :facepalm

Had Capel left him on the bench there would be a thread (started by ABD) wondering (complaining) about why Cade wasn't back in the game.

We were down late and needed points... I'll agree as far as to say that Cade coulda played a little better D, even with 4 fouls.

Maybe if the team had been put into a zone he wouldn't need to play that soft.

If you're behind you're going to need stops. If we'd been a little ahead I could see that logic.

Most sports fans just don't understand the games they watch. How many times have you read about Tubbs great offensive team from 1988? That was a great defensive team. It trapped and pressed better than any OU team I can remember. But the average fan just doesn't get it. They literally believe Tubbs didn't pay much defense. (sadly that was true thee of his last four years so OU went to the NIT). You don't win by outscoring your opponent in sports because a focus on scoring first leads to mistakes that give the other team easy baskets (which brings us right back to Billy Tubbs)

Ididn't say anything about whether or not Cade would score.
abd did, which is who started the thread. you a little upset that your abd is getting called out for starting this thread?:vitale

I never seen so many people attacked for agreeing with a SOONER fan on a SOONER board.

I am SO SICK of threads like this.

I came to this board today to see if anybody had mentioned what an amazing 1st half Cade had yesterday (the dude did EVERYTHING), but sure enough there was already one created to rip criticize the coach and Cade at the same time, which like every other ABD thread just turned into a dozen people being annoyed by having to read ANOTHER of these predictible threads, while his 2 or 3 loyal followers defend his "right to free speech" saying he's only pointing out the truth, aka any negative thing he can find.

This is why I hate this board after a loss. Not because we lost and people are dissapointed or discussing why, but because of threads like this. They dont exist after wins. Only after losses. I guess that because there's not enough that went wrong to start 4 threads right after the game.

Threads like what? It is a legit question... He came in during crunch time and literally gave up 4 layups trying not to foul out, and didnt score.

I don't understand why people have a problem with this thread.

Because if it had been anyone besides Cade, you wouldn't have cared.

Sure I would have.. I guess the thread should be titled, "why was Cade in the game if he was just going to give up 10 points without even attempting to stop the other player", because thats my beef here. I dont care that he came back in, he should have come back in, but he needs to come in and actually play and not just try to avoid a foul at the expense of layups.

I have a bigger issue with CJ not playing in the second half until there were only 3 minutes left in the game than Cade coming in when he did. Cade was playing too cautiously for sure after entering the game with 4 fouls.

ABD,

Are you aware that I do not have opinions of my own? No, I am a loyal follower....of YOU!

i'm having a harder and harder time believing that you actually were moving and thats why you didn't post during the win streak. THis board would be better without you

Simplest post in this thread is the most correct. There were 7 minutes in the game when he checked back in, we don't need 3's at that point...we need stops.

Not to mention those threes he took weren't exactly the best looks.

hahahaha, my goodness.

Some of these people are clowns... isnt there another site somewhere? Perhaps one where there isnt a mob of people waiting to ambush anyone who questions anything regarding the program?

If you find one, let me know.

I never get on here and advertise my credits, but I can say that I have watched, played, and even coached my share of hoops, and I have never witnessed a team leaving their only Sr leader on the bench during crunch time. I can agree with those who question why Cade was not told to go ahead and defend, and let the whistles fall where they may, but those who are asking why he was on the court, don't strike me as being very knowledgable basketball people.

Of course AFTER watching the game we all can see that Cade's attempt to not foul created some easy buckets, but to question why he was in the game at that point is comical.....

How about giving just a little bit of credit to the pokes who continued to go at Cade knowing that he had 4 fouls. Maybe that is the more important question, why don't we do the same when opposing players are in foul trouble??

He was in because: He is our only Sr leader, he is one of the few who have played in Bedlam games that were down to the wire, he is one of our only scoring threats, he is one of our only players who can create his own shot, he is our go to guy when we need a big shot, he has led us in scoring numerous times in the last 2 yrs, he has a knack for getting big rebounds and making big plays, and probably the most Captain Obvious answer is, our other options included Newell, Cam( not present yesterday), and maybe playing with Fitz and CJ in together.....
