Will Tiny be back next year?

Hasheem is listed at 7' 3". He also played three years of college ball, helped to lead UCONN to a final four and earned a few honors during that time, including Big East Defensive POY and co-national Defensive POY.

Tiny may have more upside when compared to Thabeet as a freshman or sophomore. But he has a long way to go before he is ready for the NBA

Couldn't agree more Ada. Imo he really hasn't developed his inside game. He's shown flashes, but still looks somewhat uncomfortable.

I heard Gottlieb's comment and I took it to mean Coach may not want Tiny back and the feeling may be mutual as with WW.

Folks Tiny has looked very freshman like for most of the year. He hasn't even started for a <500 team all year and he is ready for the NBA? Tiny can make the D league but not Europe he is not good enough today.

He is out of shape, slow and can't play D right now he needs to go see Frank this summer and plan on earning a starting job in the fall. Darby help us.

He was also sent to the D-league this week. If thabeet isnt ready for the nba with that resume, how in the world could an underachieving Tiny Gallon be ready?

I just don't think that Tiny wants to be a low-post player. He wants to dribble around the perimeter and shoot three's. He doesn't want to rebound (and really can't for that matter) and for a guy his size with the quick feet he has, he is always out of position defensively. He can go somewhere else and maybe let somebody else do the rebounding for him, but he will be the same as all the 6'10 white kids that Texas has had over the years, 3 point specialists that never sniff the NBA. I don't know how many games that I see TMG having to yell at Tiny to go inbound the ball to him so he can be the PG and bring the ball up the court, instead Tiny just looks lost and seems to think he is above inbounding the ball. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it just seems like he truly doesn't care to be playing college ball.

When did 10 points and 8 boards a game become underachieving as a freshman?

I am not saying Tiny Gallon is NBA ready but I think calling his freshman year underachieving is a bit harsh. It may have been inconsistent but I would love to see all freshman PF and C post number like 10 points and 8 boards a game.

I sure hope Tiny doesn't leave.

Sorry folks got a little bent out of shape with my comment about Tiny telling folks he won't be back.

Next time I'll keep what I have heard to myself. Maybe that will make everyone feel better. After all, that is what message boards are for...so folks can feel better.

I heard the same thing Duncan did. Makes me sad, however, because the kid is so talented and I'd like to see him sprout into a good college player.

That being said .... it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see coach just cut bait on about 3 kids as soon as possible. He's got some serious stable cleaning to do and I guarantee you his dad's advising him to make the hard choices and move forward.

Yes, let's get behind Coach Capel and whatever house cleaning he needs to do...
