Willie Warrens 3pt shooting is going to cost OU at some point, and it will also cost him money in the draft if he comes out this year. He went 0-6 tonight and is now 9-37 (24%) on the year.

He has had games of 0-3, 0-6, 1-4, and 0-8 for this year. That is horrific.

Not a Lotto today in my opinion with this type play no way.

I'm not sure what's been up with Willie this season. Outside of the Zona game, he hasn't been much of a factor. Maybe it's me, but I feel like our offense struggles when TMG goes out and Willie moves to point.

He will probably heat up like he did last year. Ideally, Willie only needs to hit a couple to have a monster game.

I agree; I thought BigTime had a good point when he said that Willie needs to hit something in his first couple of shots. If he starts off missing, he never seems to be in the game.

He started 10-39 (25%) through the first nine games last season.

What's more concerning to me is his body language when he isn't hitting. It's exactly like it was during the start of last year. The difference is that we already had an established leader who would kick his ass if he started moping.

He was supposed to be the leader of the team this year, but obviously isn't ready to take on the challenge. Hopefully he'll get his **** together.

Combined 3-pt output for Warren and Davis: 0-11.

A great mystery of basketball... one player having a career night shooting 3's and the other 3-pt specialists go ofer.

I am not disagreeing with you but where did that start? Was it from him saying he was going to lead the team or was it us the fans who thought he should lead the team?

I think willie is and will be fine....I truly believe he leaves this year for the nba and is still a loto pick

I hope so; I wonder if some of his struggle to adjust to the role of leader this year is because he keeps trying to compare himself to Blake, trying too hard to fill those giant shoes. If so, I hope Willie realizes that we don't need him to be Blake Griffin, we need him to be Wille Warren.

What is Cade's percentage? Is he a good shooter? (I think he is average to below average myself, shoots the ball too high)

When you have a guy getting all of the defense's attention, and putting a shell around him, it's going to look like that. And he had 30 and 25 in games you haven't even mentioned. That's a factor to me. As the rest of the team plays better, especially Tiny, he will become more efficient.

I think Cade was 10-25 coming into the game. If he went 0-5 today, then he would be 10-30. Cade is a tad streaky.

His shooting game has changed. Last year he would just spot up offside from Blake and get wide open looks. This year he's on the ball maore and not shooting as many rhythm threes. He'll have to get better shooting off the dribble. Also, if he starts off with easy buckets like mid range jumpers, it is easier to get in rhythm.

Two things that come to mind.

One, how often are Willie and Cade going to combine for 0-11? Hopefully never again...

Second, I love WW but are we seeing some of the character challenges some thought could be involved on the floor? Seems like he has a bit of an attitude...

I was at the game, saw nothing of the sort. Where were you sitting at the game to see this?

I'm always shocked by how much arc Davis shoots the ball with. Crazy.

Yea I don't think it helps him. Certainly physics (or is it trig?) would tell you that if it's coming in from higher it has a better chance to fall through, but I don't remember anyone being a great shooter with that much arc, but I'm sure there are a few. Seems like you're never shooting aggressively, which I think all great shooters do well.

Yeah, to me it just leaves way more room for error. Just go into a gym and put a ton of arc on your shot and see how many you hit.

Yea exactly. (granted that's how Cade has shot for years)

It's easy to tell Cade did not grow up playing a lot of playground/outdoor basketball. I miss the days of playing the wind on shots. I haven't played outside in years, outside of driveway silliness.
