on a Mid Major HC like G Marshall, J Jones, etc. or an NBA guy like Lawrence Frank? Just trying to think of an angle that hasnt been discussed ad nausem.

I'm not big on pro guys coming to college because they usually hate the recruiting aspect of the job.

for those unfamiliar with Frank, he was an assistant at Marquette and Tennessee before moving to the NBA ranks.

What about Mo Cheeks?

I am really asking about any NBA asst coach, just used Frank as an example since he was an asst at some big basketball schools and has HC experience, albeit NBA HC experience.

Mo is an assistant for the Thunder. He already has those all important "ties to the area."

Scott has a HC job, Frank doesn't.

Misinterpreted your question, sorry. Although, the Cavs job is likely the only bball job worse than the OU gig (hyberbole).

Byron Scott hates rookies and young players not named Chris Paul. What would he do to some poor freshman?

I actually think Jim Cleamons with the Lakers would be a good hire. He has said that he would like to be a head coach in college and he has an excellent resume.

At this point & time in OU basketball it is not the time that you take a chance on someone! You step up & pay the big $$$$$$$ for a top tier coach or you tell all the OU fans(that still remain loyal to OU)that you "Don't Give a Squat About The Basketball Program""Then go out & hire some has been or DII cookie crumb..GO SOONERS!!!!!

I think it depends on who that NBA assistant is.

I like Marshall enough to the point that I would have to consider who the NBA assistant is.

If it was J. Jones, however, I would be willing to bet that the majority of the time I would prefer an NBA assistant. Don't think Jones is qualified to be the coach at OU.
