WVU at Kansas

Did I see that right, 27 of Kansas' 65 points is from free throws

When was the last time they lost at home, to a big 12 team?

B12 officials should be ashamed at the advantage they give KU in Lawrence. It's border line criminal.

WVU is gassed and not pounding the boards like earlier plus they are pressing too much which is leading to easy layups by Kansas.

I don't care what anyone says. West Virginia is not a good team. Athletic - yes. But cannot hit free throws, cannot defend, cannot run well designed plays.

They just rely on being athletic.

And they foul an enormous amount. All they had to do was hit a few of their own free throws to win this. That guard shoots 49% on free throws this year. Pitiful. My grandma is better than that.

I'm starting to believe there isn't anyone in the Big 12 all that good.

Is it just me, or does Frank Mason throw a forearm every time he drives the lane. He gets away with murder with his off-hand and they never call it. In fact, he usually creates contact with it, and they call a foul for him!

They're on fumes and are fouling out anyone left. KU's 6th, 7th, and 8th men are still going strong.

Look at the official over there joking and celebrating with the Kansas bench. No excuse for that.

WVU presses for the same reason a lot of teams do. They aren't a very good half court offensive team and they need the turnovers and easy baskets to score enough points to win.

Kansas shot 43 free throws. Ridiculous.

How could you even have a close game with that going on?

It wouldn't have mattered had WVU made just a couple they missed.

You are right about that, but it also would not have mattered if WV had gotten 15 more free throws than Kansas. That is, if they had been given 58 free throws, WV would have won.

Or if WV had shot 100% for the game.

Or if a WV player had scored 150 points.

You can't explain away the outcome of a game by ignoring what took place and instead start putting in hypothetical "what ifs". The game is as it is.

Kansas got to shoot 15 more free throws than WV and that is exactly why they won.
