You need a basket

Let's not rule out frosh - year Willie Warren. As far as guys who could create their own shots and had plus FT % s, you can't ignore that.

Of course, I might've accidentally made a case for frosh-year D'Angelo Alexander...

It certainly wouldn't be Willie Warren for me??

Not who I would pick but that last second, high off the backboard, roll around the rim, millimeters from being touched by both gray and bookout, layup against Kansas state was a thing of beauty.

Give me tony Crocker or David Godbold for the win!

Yeah I was joking, I'd probably go With either of the Price's.

This is a GROSS oversight on my part........but if he was good enough for Phoenix then he's good enough for me.

I change my answer to Gar Heard.

Over Adams? Why?

I think I will go with Hollis - probably on one of his pull-up elbow Js with ice water coarsing through his veins.

Point of the thread appears to be that we have lots of good candidates other than Wonderful Wayman.

There's only one guy that can get the ball in that situation.

NICK THOMPSON!

Big Time, he's likely referring to a play that to this day is one of the top 10 NBA moments of all time. One of the greatest NBA games ever was a triple-overtime thriller between the Celtics and the Suns during the 1976 NBA Finals. Boston was up by two in double-OT, and Phoenix had to in-bound the ball at half-court with one second left. The ball was thrown to Gar Heard who was about 20-25 from the basket. The camera angle was PERFECT and the ball went right thru the net.

As for who I would pick, I honestly don't know. Most of the names on here (I even saw Jameel Heywood who tipped in the winning shot in a game in Columbia, MO) were because they made a buzzer-beater to win a game. Since there have been several of those, I'll just go with the best SCORER not named Wayman. That would narrow it down to Alvan Adams, Stacey King and Blake Griffin. I never saw Adams play in college, and Blake just didn't have enough range outside 8-10 feet in college, so my choice will be the scoring machine known as "Sky King".

I'm going to edit this to show you the play. It's listed as the #6 NBA moment of all time.
