OK State fan here...first off let me say that y'all have a great point guard and she has done a very good job representing y'all these past few years; however, through the curiosity that's came about, I have one question. Now this comes after my husband and I were at dinner the other night. Your point guard, Hook, was there with I take it her boyfriend Sherri's son. Now I could care less about y'all that but the one question in my mind is that not some sort of ncaa violation? Say his money is his mothers, or say they were dating while she was being recruited and he bought her dinner or Something. Now I have no intentions nor do I even want to "report" it but the curiosity just made me wonder if that would indeed be some sort of a violation. GO COWBOYS!

Nor was this any restaurant, this was a very expensive one downtown that I guarantee you 95% of college kids can not afford.

You may be right but at this point does it really matter? She's got a handful of game left as a Sooner.

I think it poses some interesting questions. Surely there wouldn't be any rules against a coach's son dating a player (or for that matter, a football coach's daughter dating one of his players). Is there some rule that says she should let her boyfriend take her out for dinner? Surely not. Is it then a question of the price of the dinner? Dunno, perhaps. My hunch is that, being the coach's son, he is quite aware of the rules.

What then if it were not the coach's son, but a major well-to-do booster of the program? Surely there must some rules involving booster interaction with players. But whenever affairs of the heart are involved, the waters undoubtedly can get a little cloudy, both at a personal and an institutional level.

Seems like an interesting question to pose. Hopefully someone more familiar with the official NCAA rules can give us a better clarification on the issue.

I never thought about it but, it is an interesting question.

I don't get the impression that Morgan's family is poor. Who pays for the dates?

IF that was Colton, he is a student at OU and I'm sure there are no restrictions who the players can date. Grabbin' at straws, Poke!

Like I said no bad intentions whatsoever, the situation just built curiosity as to whether that would count "against the rules" with the NCAA or with Sherri Coale.

He may be making high dollar pay for being the radio color commentator. He would then be able to afford fancy eating joints.

Ask Boone Pickens!! He probably has broken a few rules.

If Morgan pays, the Big Twelve might actually interpret that as Morgan buying her way on to the team. The Big Twelve is like that.

Exactly! Nothing is too far fetched when it comes to the NCAA.

Surely SC has already contacted her campus compliance officer and the NCAA and told them about the matter. If not, she should have. It's probably not a big deal unless some obvious BENEFITS start to appear such as MH suddenly is driving SC's car or buys SC's old junker of a 2012 Range Rover for $122.13. Or MH and CC decide to move into a place together and the rent is paid by SC.

It seems some one is just butt hurt about the butt kicking they received in Norman and is trying to start crap because they are scared. Listen up these boards are for basketball game thoughts not personal attacks or vendettas against our players.

Shame on other members for not sending this scum back to the icy planet Hoth where they belong.

So speaks the darkside of the force,
Boomer Sooner
Lord Darth Sooner out.

I don't think it would be a problem. He helped on the basketball team and is a student at OU. They fell in love. It has nothing to do with basketball. I am sure he used his own money to pay for the dinner.

I think OSU aught to take care of their own problems.......Mainly Marcus Smart and Travis Ford. Don't worry your pretty little head about who Morgan is dating or eating with.....You all have bigger "fish to fry" over there.

Some of y'all need to chill...they asked a question politely and aren't gonna take the matter further if indeed they could.
