I say we beat USC, lose to Wichita State, and beat everyone else (Alabama included) for a 10-2 non-conference record.

I concur..... win either USC or WSU and lose the other. 10-2 going into conference play.

Hummmmm.... What if we knocked off WSU... Thatd be sweet.

That game will be a lot tougher if Markus McDuffie is back. He was their leading scorer and rebounder from last season, and was runner-up for conference player of the year.

He had a stress fracture in his foot and is supposed to return mid-December.

I'm picking OU to be 9-3 in non-conference games. WSU, USC, and Bama are all on the road. I say we only win one of those. Northwestern isn't an easy game either.

BTW I knew Bama's coach Avery Johnson when he lived in the Woodlands Tx. Great guy and good coach. I used to referee a lot of youth games his son played in, so we used to talk after games. He coached the Mavs but would fly in on Saturday mornings to watch his son play.

with all 3 biggies being on the road...I'll go with 1-2.

so 9-3 but after last year...that's a good thing.

Conf, close to .500 ball..maybe a bit higher. ku is good but they have 8 guys. I don't think Preston ever plays...cargate.

TT is the surprise and TCU

Concur

If we ever wake up and have someone besides Trae start hitting shots (and the whole squad playing better defense), I think we could surprise some of the better non-conference teams remaining on our schedule.

I have no idea when those improvements will occur, though.

This is where I'm at as well. 9-3 and .500 in conference probably yields us around an 8 seed.....give or take a line.

I would be ecstatic if we took one of USC, Wichita, or Bama. If we did better than that then we're alot better than I think..

If the defense doesn't improve, they may lose 2 or 3 more non-con games. Against teams with a pulse, OU won't score 90 against (which it took to win this game against UTSA...). I hope it improves, but after 2 years, it is a trend. And not a good one.

Flame away!

I will make sure I am doing my part by cheering the guys on in Wichita. Would be a nice win if we can pull that one off.

There's definitely room for the defense to improve, but with the pace we play, we can't expect to win 100-50. It's just not going to happen (and it doesn't happen for any team very often).

UTSA's shooting percentages were fine from a defensive point of view, so what score would have been acceptable to us? 97-78? 97-72?

thank you!

The Sunshine Pumping Illuminati is telling YOU that YOU need to be happier about sub-standard defense.

Get with the times, More possessions = More points given up.

No one is saying we are going to win the Natty...

Are we going to struggle at times, yes...

Are we where we need to be... No

Its a work in progress.

Scoring 94.0 a game...

giving up 78.4

A 16 margin of victory for an entire season will result in a lot of winning...
