It seems to me that a high school big would be a good finishing touch on our class. More specifically, a high school big with some scoring ability as it seems like Bennett, Spangler and Elliott are all rebounding/defensive minded bigs. We have got to cover ourselves in case M'Baye goes pro...

2013 bigs:

A. M'Baye SR
D.J. Bennett SR
R. Spangler JR
D. Elliott JR
K. Hamilton JR
C.J. Cole SO

Realistically...I am hoping for Treshawn Bolden. Athletic point forward.
Fantasyland...Julius Randall would be nice. Seems like a decent player.

Someone give Blake... Randle's phone number! Help us out big fella!

Im thinking it goes to a 2-3 type player unless you can land Randle. If M'Baye stays you need a guard/wing to balance out roster.

A scoring wing with the size and skills to swing from the three to the four, if need be, would be nice.

If M'Baye does jump to the NBA after one season, that leaves us hoping that Cam or Tyler can provide the firepower we need from that position. Maybe one or both will have a breakout season as seniors. But I wouldn't want to count if I was in Kruger's shoes. Besides, we'll need a small forward type with experience when the three players I mentioned are no longer around.

FYI .. Spangler will be a Sophomore in 2013-14.

I would to see Coach Kruger and his coaching staff sign the best player they can, regardless of position.

Looking at the roster, I'd prefer a scoring wing (2/3). Looking at the names we're in on, it appears LK is trying to land a stud big man. What happens if we strike out on those 2-3 stud big men? Not sure.

Randle or Karviar Shepard would be my first picks! Dominic Woodson as well...if we're still even recruiting him. If those fall through, I'd say the best overall player we can get...regardless of position. We need someone who can score consistently.

Not a direct answer to the question, but maybe you hold it for a transfer from another program. In this day and age, I'd probably always have one in the bag just in case. D-I to D-I transfers have been good to us the last few years with Osby, M'Baye and Spangler. I guess you can always run off a kid, but none of the kids that CLK has gotten so far give me any indication that you would want to run them off.

I agree, if we can't get Randle or another impact rated recruit. I am a big believer in 5th yr players for leadership and maturity along with game skills of a super senior. That is a pleasant byproduct of D1 to D1 transfers.

Yes, we need not forget about Spangler everyone. He will be a nice addition for next year.

Agreed. Spangler was a kid a number of OU fans wanted when he came out of high school. He's a high-energy player who will be a very nice addition to our roster next season. Better still, he'll be around three more years.

We need someone with size who can score...we are fine at wing for this year.

What about the following year when Cam and Amath (if he stays) are seniors? My point is that it would be nice to have a scoring wing with experience the following year, when those two are no longer around. I would rather add more high school recruits to the roster and minimize our dependence on juco transfers. Not that I'm opposed to going the juco route. I just don't want to see the roster loaded with them.

Now, if the someone you're about is Randle, Woodson, Shepherd or Bolden, that's another story. You take players like that and jump for joy that you landed a potential difference maker to the program. If none of the top bigs on our list pan out, or if there are no quality scoring wings available, you go with the best player you can sign, regardlless of position.

I agree with Ada. You take a high level kid that is a difference maker whatever his position and the current numbers at that position. It is just hard to find big time players. i say take them when you can get them. So, even though we will have a lot of interior players next year, if you can get randle, bolden etc, you take them.

Otherwise, i say just get the best available player at any position. If the staff thinks they can get a good transfer, then that might not be a bad way to go. They will have a lot of kids to get minutes for next year anyway.
