#13 OU vs #6 LSU 2pm 1/18

It has been a while since Mulkey has been at the LNC. She and Sherri used to have some great matchups. A victory over her would be so sweet just to watch her post game PC.😂

I was wondering the same? I wonder if the sell-out was mostly LSU fans? It doesn't seem we sell out very often, but i'm hoping for an electric crowd that our girls can feed off of and win in, but I don't have much hope. We just don't play cleanly enough, and the lack in discipline in that area as well as depth are definitely what I believe is keeping us from making that next jump. Will we ever clean that area of our game up under JB? That's an interesting question.

JB seems to be fine with high risk high reward passing that leads to a lot of turnovers. Our offense just isn't patient, I get wanting to play fast, but if you are a mediocre 3 point team it can hurt you in tight games which I think we have seen lately.

also watching the Texas South Carolina game... The Texas full court pressure is going to eat our lunch. USC is having trouble inbounding the ball.

Vic just said at his halftime interview that it's hard to win in this league without discipline. He's 1000% correct. I think that is why we are struggling. I don't think we have had a single player under JB who I would say exuded discipline.

+1

I also watched UT vs. SC and they're in an entirely different tier than we are. I agree, the quick, bad decisions on offense are essentially another TO, so our TO numbers are misleading. We are giving teams so many more possessions per game because we aren't patient and just chuck up the first remotely open shot we get after crossing halfcourt. Any team worth a dang will take advantage of that and it's hard to come back from that.

These last few games have really shown how much Scott, Vann, R. Scott and Keys really helped us. We lost a lot more than I thought we lost, and Chavez is the only new player that's replacing that production, so we are running on a deficit, and not even as good as last year's team, IMO. Maybe that'll change before the season is over, but without any leadership or experience to come off the bench I don't believe it will, before it's too late anyway. I genuinely hope I'm wrong and we pull it out Sunday.

They also had 20 turnovers. I thought both teams looked just ok. Chavez is producing because she’s a volume shooter. Her efficiency said she should pass more. That’s where we get good in my opinion. Every player has to be involved.

IMO Texas should have won by double digits but I feel like they just didn’t prepare enough for this SC game. Im personally am not impress with South Carolina what so ever. Had Texas limited their TO’s they would have won by a lot. Also them being in foul trouble hurt them as well.

Aaliyah needs to get involved more on passing and setting her teammates up on offense more, if she can do that with her scoring like she does we probably would be so much better. IMO

You’re on point! My criticism makes it seem like I’m not happy she’s here. That’s not true at all. I just know the potential of our kids. 13 & 15 assists (last two games) is not going to win for us. I think it will change this weekend though.

I hope you are right. I always have faith in our players. I just need them to score more offen instead of being unselfish. If you are open SHOOT the ball if you are not than look elsewhere to pass the ball or open yourself some space.

We got to demand the boards, stay out of foul trouble, limit our turnovers and just play free together as a team Sunday and Next Thursday AND for the rest of the season!

I suppose the good news is we are not playing anywhere close to what we could potentially be playing and our losses have been close. The few glimpses we've shown when we are playing at our potential we separate ourselves but then the lack of consistency is what ultimately gets us. Need to play more like a team, but I'm not sure Chavez is ready to pass the ball more at this stage in her career. Look at Vanderbilt, they have a volume shooter in Blakes, but their little freshman point guard has made them even better, I think that's what we need... A solid distributor that sets up everyone else and is a consistent leader, hoping someone emerges as that.... Sooner rather than later

Could be Vann, but she hunts a lot too. I think SoonerTalk405 hit it on the head with them playing freely. It hasn’t looked fun the last few games.

Trying to stay hopeful today. Have a feeling Beers picks up two fouls in the first quarter because of Mulkey’s antics with the refs and we go downhill from there. Hope I’m wrong!
