Thoughts on the Auburn Game:

First, Beers has got to quit using her arms to clear out. That is a foul. Her elbow is up as well, and if a kids head is in the way, it will be a flagrant one.

Second, we are a completely different team with Beers in the game. Got to work tirelessly on fixing her fouling, she is the key to this team.

Third, not sure Stewart isn't our best player. Crazy good. As long as she gets her minutes, I don't have a problem starting Williams, due to her experience. But, Stewart is plainly one of our best 5.

Tom or someone suggested moving Verholst to point, well, Jennie didn't do that, but perhaps just as effective, she has Chavez making sure Peyton touches the ball at the top of the key before Chavez is free to generate offense. Has slowed her down and gotten the other girls on the team involved and there is less just standing around. Seems to me anyway.

Williams could have and nearly did cost us the Auburn game for a completely selfish dumb'ss act. The game was still in the balance. She gave them 4 points. Fix that idiocy now, or it will happen again exactly when we don't need it to occur. That is how the world works. Talkling to her isn't enough. Sit her for a game or take her from the starting lineup or something.

And finally, Peyton is just a baller. Love watching her play. Reminds me so much of the enjoyment I had watching Whitney Hand early on at OU and before injuries robbed her of so much. I really enjoy watching basketball when you get to watch a kid that plays it like "rainman", that is, doesn't think just plays instinctively with skill and anticipation. So much fun.

Good win. Ugly game, but you can blame that on Auburn.

Just like Courtney, Beers used her body really well at getting position. She doesn't need to use her arms to assist. She can hold them straight up from her body, but she extends them out all the way behind her body. She is trying to hold them behind her so they can't get on her side. She just needs to keep using her body to maintain her position. Hard to explain. All that being said, Courtney was a one of a kind. Love beers and she is great, but IMO, you can't put her in the Courtney category.

I haven’t really seen Jennie change the starting 5 much before. I don’t see her doing so for Stewart. She seems to be coming in quicker though and I don’t think has even neared her ceiling.

I’d love for Stewart to put on some good muscle in the offseason. She’s pushed around a little more than I’d like.

This!! Brooklyn is pretty good for a freshman, of course she doesn’t always have good games but in some way or another she always impacts the game rather thats on defense, offense or even rebounding. I love that she has Raegan mentoring her and always talking to her. Raegan is probably the BEST in the country at her position hands down.
Yes she Probably could definitely be our starting PF next season if she continues to do what she is doing now. I think the duo of Brooklyn and Raegan is good now. Just imagine what Big we can get to come in with Brooklyn having a year under her belt would be like next year. And YES if Brooklyn can go get stronger in the gym this season and next season she is going to be a problem next season. I definitely do not want her gaining weight, I just want her more stronger and a bit more aggressive. With all of that though that means Sahara would have to move to the 3 with Brooklyn playing PF which im fine with. But who knows its just early talk.

she seemed to have taken a step forward with her aggressiveness in rebounding and confidence in going after her offense yesterday. i really hope she continues to do this because we'll need her.

does anyone know if Culliton is out for the rest of the season? looks like she's in a cast...

Yea we can dream that maybe one of the SC girls or LSU girls after our game with them came away thinking to themself "Man those girls look like they're having fun and they really play fast, I could do that !"
