I think we will be lucky to keep it within 20. Their 6’7 player is from France I believe. She’s going to be their next great player I’m pretty sure.
SC fan here,
Yes, she is from France, an 18 yo who has not played much so far in her two games with SC. She doesn’t know the offense well yet and is just getting her feet wet. Against Beers, I wouldn’t expect her to play more than 10-12 minutes, maybe less tbh. SC will use 6’6 Okot at center and sub her with Tac, a 6’5 backup center. Tournabize, the girl from France, is thin and prob not ready to bang with Beers. She has a nice shooting stroke though and should develop into a very good player as she fills out some. She is athletic and runs the floor well. Dunks the ball with ease also.
SG Latson is back from injury finally and looks healthy, she is excellent in the transition, which SC relies upon for much of its offense. They will try to push the ball downcourt all game at a fast pace, that’s their game. Raven Johnson, the starting PG is their best defender and she will be put on Chavez, so Chavez will need to be on her game, Raven is an elite defender. The leading scorer is Joyce Edwards, a soph 6’3 forward who is good around the rim. Beers will need to be careful of fouls if she helps on her because Edwards is effective at drawing fouls. The wing Tessa Johnson, averages 45% on her threes so the Sooners have to keep someone on her at all times. The center Okot averages 14/11 and is a good rim protector, her battle with Beers will be worth watching. This is not a typical year for SC who usually gets a bunch of points from their bench, I think the bench only averages around 14-15 ppg. They are not as deep as usual, lost two players to season ending injuries before the season started, including all SEC Chloe Kitts. Off the bench the best player is probably the freshman Makeer, she usually contributes when in there. It should be a good game, looks like a big crowd for this one.
That is my cliff note version of a scouting report for the OK fans. Anyway, looking forward to watching the game tonight, OK has a team I have watched many times this year, good program and fun to watch.
