#16 OU vs #2 South Carolina 6:30pm 1/22

yeah i don't see us hanging in very long either. it'll be the exact same thing as the LSU game was, except SC might beat us by even more, depending on how their guards play. They have the advantage in pretty much every area, and more talented size than LSU, so it could get ugly. I just don't see any improvement in decision making and basic fundamentals in this team from one loss to the next, so I'll be shocked if it isn't another repeat of last year's 40 point thumping. If we can stay in there and only lose by 10 i'll be pleasantly surprised. With our lack in depth and inferior talent/coaching I give us about 0.5 % chance of winning. As you can imagine losing 3 out of 4 games to ranked opponents has pretty much cost this team the season IMO, and I don't see any coming back from a 4 straight loss to ranked opponent swing. I'll follow online but not watch.

last night's team was the team I thought we'd see all season, and that's why when we didnt' see that team up until last night I was wondering if it just wasn't going to happen this year. Last night proved a lot of people that were doubting wrong, including myself. I'm always happy to say I was wrong in these circumstances! I really hope they don't have a letdown emotionally sunday against Auburn and continue to stay locked in and play this way on both sides of the ball. If they do, they can definitely hang in there or even beat Texas or Vanderbilt, it's just a matter of which team will show up. I do think Chavez finally let the game come to her last night, instead of forcing things, and it was a beautiful thing to watch, especially in OT.

Only negatives about last night is that we still committed 10 more fouls than South Carolina, so we have to cut that down to be a contender, and we still had 21 TOs, but it didn't really feel that sloppy watching it.

Maan lastnight was fun! Our ladies came to play.

The team was clicking and PLAYED some damn GOOD team defense lastnight.
Aaliyah played probably her best game of her career thus far. Yea she didn’t score much in prior to us going to OT but she was still involved in the game with her assists, her movement on setting her teammates up and her defense was very Good. Thats what I want to start seeing her from her.
Im glad the game plan was have Zya and Payton bring the ball up across court and than give it to Aaliyah. I thought that was a smart move by Jennie. Because Aaliyah looks more like a better PG when that happens. For the most part of the game at least.
Zya was hitting them 3’s so confidently I was SHOOK!

Oh and btw ALL 5 of our starters scored in double digit’s lastnight.

Raegan Beers is the BEST center in America. She reminds me so much of Courtney Paris. Strong, and will rip rebounds down.
I believe Raegan now has 14 double doubles this season now, Now correct me if im wrong on that please.

Great team win and even better game plan by coach Baranczyk and her coaching staff.

Onto Auburn. 🤞🏽

Flowed so much better offensively like that. Also, really liked Lofton defensively. She needs to be more aggressive offensively and I understand Jennie has asked her to focus on defense, but she can still contribute. And will have to in my opinion. But the defense with her on the court is very good. There were a ton of mismatches on a few people cutting we could hit all through out the game. And layups of course continue to hurt us. Speed thing maybe? South Carolina struggled there too. Extremely happy to see Verhulst look like her. Hope this game brought them closer. Sure was fun.

For this good play to continue we must:

Get the ball to Beers
Have good player and ball movement
Reduce the low percentage passes
Keep improving on defense
Develop more depth. Stewart and Lofton was therer last night. Smith wasn't.
Improve our three point shooting. Believe that we are better than we are shooting but we shoot too many from too far away, rush them and shoot them too early in the possession.
