#16 OU vs #2 South Carolina 6:30pm 1/22

yeah i don't see us hanging in very long either. it'll be the exact same thing as the LSU game was, except SC might beat us by even more, depending on how their guards play. They have the advantage in pretty much every area, and more talented size than LSU, so it could get ugly. I just don't see any improvement in decision making and basic fundamentals in this team from one loss to the next, so I'll be shocked if it isn't another repeat of last year's 40 point thumping. If we can stay in there and only lose by 10 i'll be pleasantly surprised. With our lack in depth and inferior talent/coaching I give us about 0.5 % chance of winning. As you can imagine losing 3 out of 4 games to ranked opponents has pretty much cost this team the season IMO, and I don't see any coming back from a 4 straight loss to ranked opponent swing. I'll follow online but not watch.
lol. 🤡. Boomer

last night's team was the team I thought we'd see all season, and that's why when we didnt' see that team up until last night I was wondering if it just wasn't going to happen this year. Last night proved a lot of people that were doubting wrong, including myself. I'm always happy to say I was wrong in these circumstances! I really hope they don't have a letdown emotionally sunday against Auburn and continue to stay locked in and play this way on both sides of the ball. If they do, they can definitely hang in there or even beat Texas or Vanderbilt, it's just a matter of which team will show up. I do think Chavez finally let the game come to her last night, instead of forcing things, and it was a beautiful thing to watch, especially in OT.

Only negatives about last night is that we still committed 10 more fouls than South Carolina, so we have to cut that down to be a contender, and we still had 21 TOs, but it didn't really feel that sloppy watching it.

Maan lastnight was fun! Our ladies came to play.

The team was clicking and PLAYED some damn GOOD team defense lastnight.
Aaliyah played probably her best game of her career thus far. Yea she didn’t score much in prior to us going to OT but she was still involved in the game with her assists, her movement on setting her teammates up and her defense was very Good. Thats what I want to start seeing her from her.
Im glad the game plan was have Zya and Payton bring the ball up across court and than give it to Aaliyah. I thought that was a smart move by Jennie. Because Aaliyah looks more like a better PG when that happens. For the most part of the game at least.
Zya was hitting them 3’s so confidently I was SHOOK!

Oh and btw ALL 5 of our starters scored in double digit’s lastnight.

Raegan Beers is the BEST center in America. She reminds me so much of Courtney Paris. Strong, and will rip rebounds down.
I believe Raegan now has 14 double doubles this season now, Now correct me if im wrong on that please.

Great team win and even better game plan by coach Baranczyk and her coaching staff.

Onto Auburn. 🤞🏽

Flowed so much better offensively like that. Also, really liked Lofton defensively. She needs to be more aggressive offensively and I understand Jennie has asked her to focus on defense, but she can still contribute. And will have to in my opinion. But the defense with her on the court is very good. There were a ton of mismatches on a few people cutting we could hit all through out the game. And layups of course continue to hurt us. Speed thing maybe? South Carolina struggled there too. Extremely happy to see Verhulst look like her. Hope this game brought them closer. Sure was fun.

For this good play to continue we must:

Get the ball to Beers
Have good player and ball movement
Reduce the low percentage passes
Keep improving on defense
Develop more depth. Stewart and Lofton was therer last night. Smith wasn't.
Improve our three point shooting. Believe that we are better than we are shooting but we shoot too many from too far away, rush them and shoot them too early in the possession.

What was everyone watching? South Carolina never felt like they were going to win big or for sure in my opinion. At least not like the replies here are suggesting. A game to witness in person and I’m one who said I wasn’t going back. Happy I did.
Sc definitely didn’t play to their potential. 5 off rebounds and missed all 5 put backs on ONE possession.

Very happy OU won and the OT was great. With that said.. sc didn’t have a great game and that happens more and then.

Many of our WBB fans – at least the ones who post here – are doofuses.

Great win, Sooners!
Because we see reality? lol. Great win but don’t fool yourself. I’ll take sc to go further than OU in the tourney…

They’re just not as good this year. I’ve watched enough games to know it wasn’t just a bad game for them. We definitely player better though.

Maybe but 19-0 5-1… their 6’7 French girl just started with them. They’ll go further then us in the tourney

I think it was a combination of South Carolina having one of their 'worst ' teams in the last 4 years or so and Sooners just wanting/needing it more. I've been watching SC play all season and have thought on many occasions that they are not as impressive as in the past but to be fair they are riddled with injuries and other issues off the court. Guarantee they take it to Vanderbilt tomorrow.

I've read and seen lots of message boards from teams across the country. Apparently the goal of this board is different than most. This board will never grow and help build the fan base when you have goofballs like soonerguy06, tom4ou & soonerinkc claiming to be fans. In the history of OU WBB the program has 3 wins over top 2 teams in the country and 2 of them are in the JB era. We are now playing with 7 of the 10 girls that are Fresh/Soph and yes they needed to grow to get better.

At least Jdizzle knew they were a troll. The other doofuses will just continue to bring down this board with there expert analysis. I'm sure that SC's play had nothing to do with how well OU played. It was just an off night for them right? Just like the last 67 out of 68 conference games that they won. I'm sure the only reason they won is because SC had a bad game. I'd much rather you keep your traps shut for a while so those of us that are fans who actually watch the games can discuss the team and support the program.

This is why I just sit here and think to myself why are people on here going in on a young team. There is literally 3 seniors on the roster. And hell 1 senior isn’t even playing right now. We have a LOT of returners coming back next year, if they stay and not transfer.

Im excited for the future of our program under Jennie. We are in good hands if you ask me. Yes of course I’ll question some of her coaching decisions at times but at the same time she is still learning as she coaches too.

Ok buddy. I support these young ladies more than the next person. I’m also a donor to the program. I’m very old and may not know terms you all do, and speak more bluntly. Saying South Carolina isn’t as good this year wasn’t a slight against Oklahoma girls. It is the truth. They are a different team this year, just like us. I don’t think they had a bad game. I think they met a united Sooner team. I think OUr girls could have beat anyone in the country Thursday. And still if they play like that every game. Maybe don’t read everything with a negative Nancy mind. It’s a discussion room. That usually means anything can be discussed. I’ve been on many other boards as well, And I’d say you’re wrong. There are some way more critical than this one. And I think for the majority, we’re all positive. I’m about to get up, have my grapefruit and coffee, and watch OUr girls kick Auburn butt. Put some extra creamer in your coffee friend, it seems a little bitter.

Should be a good game too. SEC is so spread out talent wise, it’s whoever shows up best that day. Parity in the game has made for a wild year so far. Much more interesting than years before.
