2008 college basketball budgets

Interesting site. Looks like OU is spending enough to allow Coach Capel to compete. Man does Duke run up a high bill!!!

What other sport would Duke spend money on? They don't have a football program.

Seriously, while I agree that a budget of $5 mil plus is not bad, no way OU should be ranked fifth in the Big 12 behind the likes of Okie State and ATM. So what if the Pokes have T. Boone? I'm also shocked that a school in a poverty-stricken state like West Virginia would be spending more money on basketball than OU. The Mountaineers do have a football program, and a pretty good one at that.

President Boren needs to get OU's donors to pony up and give our hoops program the support it deserves. JMHO.
