2014 pg recruits

2014 PG Chauncey Collins (OKC STORM)- More of a scoring pg. But has great handles as well. I don't think OU is actively recruiting him but I think they could make a late push. Tulsa, TT, and TCU ARE ON HIM.

2014 omega Harris I really do like him. I know his recruitment has stalled a little, on an official to UTEP this weekend.

2 local kids. Both good prospects.
Haven't heard a lot of other names out there...

I'm really curious what OU does at the pg position. Save the ship or use it.

With Nairn going in another direction, I think we'll save that ship until next year.

I think most of us agree that Woodard is the odds-on favorite to start at the point. While it would have been nice to have another high-profile PG recruit on our roster, it's not like Jordan is the only who can play that position if need be. My guess is that Cousins will be our back up to start the season, with Hornbeak poised to step into one of those roles in case of an injury, or someone is simply not getting the job done.

I just think it's hilarious how some of our fans, and Omega's fan that posts here, think he is so great, yet UTEP is where he commits. That doesn't sound like a kid that had a lot of good scholarship offers. And don't tell me he is going to UTEP for the beautiful campus.

That depends on who answers the question. I have seen it both ways. But as someone said above, I would find it hard to believe someone would choose UTEP when a school like Oklahoma is offering. There may be reasons, but I would find it hard to believe.

Exactly! UTEP hasn't made it to the NCAA tourney since the early 90s. Floyd may get them there in time. But so far the best he has done is an NIT bid in his first year. The last two have been a total bust.

I harbor no ill will for Omega. But this commitment does not make me think that OU missed out on a must-get recruit by not signing him.

UTEP has been to the tourney 3 times since 2004.

Lots of good bigs have offers but doesn't seem many guard offers are out. It looks like we may be just taking a couple bigs right now.

But transfers and late bloomers always rise up!
