2014 should be a great season IMO, Top 20sh borderline sweet 16 depending on post development with new bigs. Now if Taeshawn Thomas gets the waiver 2014 is top 10sh borderline final four.

2015 on the other hand with Taeshawn and Manyang and if we are lucky Buddy Hield easy top 5 Championship contender.

Lon Kruger = Fantastic recruiter
I know we aren't getting 5 star 1 and done guys but I prefer the way we are going anyways. So far no big misses on his part.

I don't see any way Buddy leaves early IF Thomas is eligible for 2015-2016. Unless he blows up beyond what I think is reasonably possible this year, I think he would for sure come back to enjoy his senior year, and a loaded roster.

I think this year we could be one of the favorites to win the conference. ISU and Texas will probably be ahead of us. And till Self is gone Kansas will still also be up there no matter what their roster looks like, but we are in that group at the top IMO. The Big 12 will be one of the top conferences against top to bottom so setting expectations to win the Big 12 is tough. But I fully expect a team that will win come March Madness.

Buddy's total game went backwards last year. He became a catch and shoot 3 point shooter. He needs a couple of years to develop complete game. Slash to the basket, better ball handler and get back to the defense he played as a Freshman.

his game was much better than the year before ..

Buddy needs to learn how to dribble the dang ball. The rest of his game needs improvement as well.

Buddy needs to get better, but so does Woodard, Spangler, Cousins, and everyone else returning. But I'm confident that they will.

Buddy's game may have improved, overall, but Jerry was right about him falling in love with the trey. Our Pacific Islander needs to concentrate on getting back to doing what excited all of us his freshman season: getting to the basket whenever possible to help free up the middle for our bigs.

Kruger has already said that's what he expects out of Hield this year, so I believe we'll see Buddy respond to his coach's challenge.

OU is expecting to be playing without Buddy after next season.

He isn't close to playing in the NBA. Unless he wants to play overseas he will be at OU the year after.
Buddy needs to take that next step. Hopefully he had improved over the summer especially ballhandling, attacking the rim, and defense.

You might want to stop by and let the OU coaching staff know that. They are not planning on having him that season and that is why they are really hoping for the waiver for Thomas for this season.

no way.. unless hes declaring to go into the 2nd round

LOL. I meant to type A-T-L-A-N-T-I-C. Thanks for pointing out to everyone how senile a 63-year-old mind can be. :D

Believe me, I understand. Ninety-plus percent of my memory is on the internet; and I'm "only" 59.

I wonder if they play basketball on Fiji. ;)

Maybe he has family obligations that will pull him away from OU earlier than he should leave, but while it's not impossible, I just really don't see Buddy playing himself into a lottery-type pick next year.

If the Big 12 was any good and Buddy improves at all it's very likely he's a first round pick after next season.

Last season Buddy ranked - 8th scoring at 17.5, 6th in FG% at 46.3%, 2nd in steals at 1.56, 4th in 3PT% at 42.9%.

The only thing he needs to improve is getting to the line. He only made 26 free throws which was by far the least of the Big 12 leaders. He gets a couple more FTs a game, a few more steals and he's pushing 20 ppg and Big 12 POY.

Doesn't have complete game for NBA. D league guy if he leaves early. Needs 2 years.
