Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Moving forward....I hope that we get a helluva lot tougher on the boards. i can't count the number of times that we've had our hands on the ball and haven't secured it......frustrating.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Much better offense the last few minutes.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

We're winning by 20 and they announcers are talking about how we didn't play very well. What do we have to do?

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Buford out there now...really weird. He in the doghouse or something?

Yeah, not a bad performance. Coulda been better. But it's early in the season. Wisconsin may be upper half of the Big 10 by years end. Not a bad win at all.

They're right. That should be an indication of how good we can really be.

I don't think we played all that well either. Some of that is a product of how Wisconsin plays and makes you play (tempo). I just think we were lethargic at times and missed some close shots that we normally make. I wasn't crazy about our effort on the boards at times either. It's a nice win, but we have some things to work on.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

I've watched some games and we looked as good as anyone tonight. We didn't give up easy shots and we shot like 43% from the field. Sure we could have blown them out more and have things to work on, but I don't think it's fair to say we played bad.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Buford not in trouble. Just a Spangler night.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Great W today ! Didn't even play that well but we still won going away and got our younger guys some real minutes.

I took what Fran said as a compliment. We beat last year's NCAA runner up by 17 and he felt we could have played better.

I was happy with the win! But, there were definitely some areas where this OU team can improve. Defensive rebounding for one. We saw the same thing in the Memphis game. And, to be honest, except for Spangler's awesome performance, Cousins and Hield were the only ones who played all that well. I'm glad to say our defense that limited Wisky to 23.5% from the field shooting (21.2% from three) was the main reason we got out to a big lead and were never really tested after that.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Lattin had a good night as well. A lot of good rebounds...

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Definitely a good performance considering it's still November. I'm sure we'll be much better in the 2nd half of the season.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

I'll take any win over a Wisky team. They ugly games up and are coached extremely well. To win by a large margin (even over this admittedly young Wisconsin team) is a good win.

Re: >>>>>>>OU-Wisconsin Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

Not a bad game but not outstanding. Thing I noticed the most was that they outscrapped us on rebounds. A big percentage of the 50/50 rebounds went to them and they got 4 more than we did.

Defense was good against an offensively challenged team. But they can still stay in a game with treys.

Spangler superb. Isaih also with a good game.

Bench still needs to contribute more. Compared to Memphis, played 5 minutes less (48 to 53), scored two points less (13 to 15), and one less rebound (11 to 12). Best news is that the bench contributed 4 assists to one turnover vs 1 assist and 5 turnovers against Memphis.

Loved the pick and roll for an alley-oop to Manyang. Still our bench has to contribute more. That is where most of the team's improvement has to come from.

As has been noted Wisconsin can make you play ugly.
