I saw today that Lon will see him play. I would assume that he would be playing this evening. From the videos I have seen he is very quick and honestly looks more athletic than Trae. Anyone else know anything about him?

5'9...that's tough.

I know size isn't everything..(so my wife says ) BUT that is small...

even Evans and Forte are 6ft...aren't they?

There is an Oklahoma kid that is in juco right now that OU has been asking about. KU has called his high school coach on him also and had him on campus unnofficially twice.

Shawn Olden

Regardless of size maybe some East Coast toughness would be a plus.

His Stats so far: Shawn Olden, out of Union, went to Pepperdine out of HS

Olden's stats don't overwhelm me, but he could have a lot of intangibles that don't show up in a box score. I assume he's a PG. Shooting mid-30's from the field, right at 30% from beyond the arc, and mid-60's from the free throw line are less than I want from my PG.

On the other hand, he must be decent if KU has shown some interest. He played a lot of ball at Pepperdine and made the all-WCC freshman team, and was playing well as a sophomore before season ending ankle surgery. I assume he was granted his medical redshirt and is playing juco ball as a 3rd year sophomore.

We could do a lot worse......

Why would Jaysquawk U be calling if they were getting TY???

His percentages are better from Pepperdine

ESPN profile

Not much. His (Shawn Olden) freshman year he shot 37% from the field and 30% from deep which is about his percentages this year in juco ball. His sophomore stats were better (46% / 45%), but he only played in 9 non-conference games before his injury which led to his medical redshirt.

I'm not saying he's a bad player. He just appears to be an average shooter.

He wasn't a PG in high school. Haven't seen him in college though.
