They will wait for Young but could take another point guard or at least combo before he decides. I agree with CoachTalk.
We don't lose a big guy off next years team so no need for a big unless he is a great player.

Interesting that we may be backing off the notion of needing a big this year. At one point they were going after the Minnesota kid pretty hard. And the Sunrise guy, maybe? I guess Manek if he is a legit 6-9 could be considered the big for this class. OU does need to start getting more muscular bigs. It seems like all the ones we've signed the last few years are paper thin and aren't very physical. I hope that doesn't come back to bite us.

The problem with Landrum is he can't be a combo. If you get a guy like Batts then you can use him as a combo.

Landrum was on campus in the past 2 weeks for a visit. Not saying we take him bc ou likes several of these guys.

But... Young bust doesn't make sense. We will take a pg. yes we are waiting on young if thats what you meant.

I've heard the staff has been impressed with Doolittle, so maybe no big and hope McNeace has gotten stronger. They also have Freeman but he needs to pick up nuances of low post play.

I remember calling a HS game and called their big man for 2-3 fouls. He asked me how I was seeing those because nobody else had called him for it. I smiled and told him he wasn't doing anything that I didn't do.

Yep. Six experts now picking Trae to OU, giving us a 30% trending rating to UK's 40%.

That's a heck of a lot better than a few months ago when JH was mainly the only one picking OU.

The good thing about a Trae decision in December is it let's Lon and Co. put the full - court press on other PG targets if he goes with UK or - heh - Tech. None of this "take a body a week before signing period ends and hope it turns into next year's starter" silliness we saw too much of a few years back.

Seemed to work out last year. Odomes is a big guard & James rebounds very well. Lattin & McNease have plenty of size as does Doolittle. Kruger wants athletic bigs.

He has a system that works. I love his practices because they're so organized and crisp. They hand out a schedule to all the fans that break down the drills in 5-10 minute slots and they stick to the schedule. Kruger doesn't wear a whistle or yell at the players, but he has full control of the practice.
