2025 - 2026 Coaching Carousel

Yeah this is a head scratcher. Doesn’t really move the needle.
I mean the guy wins at a .735 clip at belmont. We need a guy like that.. he just hasn't came through in the clutch in their conference tournament yet. Not once.

Kim English at Providence just got the boot this morning. He was a former Mizzou basketball player. I remember seeing his first Providence team get roasted by OU in Norman early in that 2023-24 season.

OMG. Pittsburgh has COMPLETELY given up. Holy crap
I think you're going to see more and more coaches run out their contracts in basketball, bc football is most schools' moneymaker.. and buyouts = entire year's rosters most times

Who else did we consider when we hired Capel? I was looking at his 4 years at VCU and I had remembered his time there very differently than it was apparently. Aka it didn't look like a good hire

Believe it or not, Geno Auriemma. Word on the street was that it was his job if he wanted it. Joe C always played his coaching searches close to the vest. He never wanted to create a public embarrassment like other schools did. One example was NC State. Several years back, they publicly had 5 candidates reject them before the sixth time became a charm. Joe C would never let something like that happen.

No he just hires his target candidate and then lets the program whither away into mediocrity because his apathy.

Didn’t stand up or fight for Kelvin, did nothing to help capitalize on the momentum Buddy built, let LK struggle till his retirement, and the last 5 years are well documented.

But you’re right, at least he doesn’t embarrass himself in public with messy coaching searches.
