Yep, can't believe how accepted it is as the major reason people buy basketball tickets.

But Coach's first part of the post is true. The problem, up until the last 2-3 years, has always been butts in the seats. Even now, it is still a problem, and the diminishing ticket sales just magnify it. Unfortunately, we have and have had a group of season ticket holders that just want the marquee games or come when it is convenient.

It's just that previously, we had enough loyal season ticket holders that would show up, it wasn't such a huge problem. Now, it is.

And admin, marketing, and basketball ops (scheduling) are doing very little to entice people to do so. Of course, winning more would help tremendously.

This is insane. Can't fault kids for lack of commitment anymore when coaches are doing it at a higher level. Contracts and press conferences mean nothing anymore.

And I won't go as far as Jay Bilas on his soapbox, but presidents, AD, and coaches need to be reigned in as much, if not more than the players.

At least in pro sports, teams are fined or stripped of draft choices if they tamper and pry a coach from a contract.
