He just responded to a post about the Gonzaga player getting an extra year due in part to missing two years following a heart attack by saying it’s bad for the sport and dismissively saying “life isn’t fair.” In other words, totally unsympathetic to the athlete. But apparently he is all for the athlete when it comes to privacy and not disclosing injuries. Maybe I misunderstood and he has some other reason for being on board with teams not discussing injuries. Personally, I’ve always thought it’s ridiculous how tight lipped college coaches are when it comes to that stuff. I know they might cite privacy, but more often than not, I think they are just paranoid. Pro teams have to disclose what the injury is on the injury report, and yet they manage to survive.
