+++#4/6 Oklahoma (14-2, 4-1) vs. Kansas State (12-5, 2-3) Pregame Thread+++

My opinion is that road wins against OSU, ISU, KSU, Baylor and Texas along with protecting home court will ultimately determine the championship. Regardless all conference games are important. If OU simply does that, OU has at most 3 losses. I don't really see anyone making it through this conference with only 2 losses.

13-5 wins the conference. I think two teams will share the title. If someone can finish 14-4, they win outright.

KU already has three road games out of the way and has won them all. So for them to lose a total of five conference games, they would either have to lose four of their remaining six road games (extremely unlikely), or split their remaining road games and lose one more home game. I don't see that happening, either. I think they will go no worse than 14-4, so OU, Tech, and West Virginia don't have much margin for error. That's why last night was such a huge result, combined with KU winning two home games last week when they were seriously on the ropes.

I think OU can sweep KU. I am not saying they will, I am simply saying it is legitimately possible not some long shot. I think WVU can beat KU in Lawrence. I think Tech will beat KU in Lubbock. I think TCU could beat KU in Lawrence. I think KU can lose a game to the bottom five just as easily as anyone else. I think 14-4 or 15-3 wins the conference but I don't think a 13-5 winner is out of the question. The conference is brutal this year.

KU's biggest conference win is 6 points over Texas. I think KU is very vulnerable this year.

The KU team I saw last night against WVU in Morgantown is a lot stronger than the one you saw apparently.

I didn't watch the final minutes of the game but they did not look good in the part of the game I saw which was the entire first half and parts of the second but nothing after Carter picked up his 4th foul.

KU is not beating people decisively. They are simply winning games. That will bite you in the long run. I am not particularly impressed with KU or really anyone in the country. I think OU can beat any team in college basketball this year.

I also see more room for improvement with OU than most other teams. Guys can finish better, Trae's decision making can and will improve, the defense can and will improve. Spacing and movement on offense can and will improve. OU is young.

Are you saying you don’t think OU can beat KU if KU plays like they did last night? I was impressed with what they did but we can beat that on any given night and we are not likely to lay that offensive egg like WV did. Regardless, it is a mistake to assume any team is always going to play every game at the same level. OU certainly does not and neither does KU. Here in KC the KU fans have already forgotten their fortunate home win vs KSU, their close home win vs ISU, and their home loss to TT. They are already unlocking the trophy case again.

I still pick them to at least get a share of the conf title again but we are capable of getting them in either game and they are also capable of getting us.

I certainly think we can beat them. I just give the edge to tough teams and both KU and WVU are tougher than us right now.

The jayhawks are not your typical KU team. They depend of getting 38% of their points BTA and have shot .411 for the season. In their loss to Texas Tech they shot .231 and got only 25% of their points BTA. They lost to Tech 73-85 in Lawrence. As the ole adage goes if you live by the 3 you die by the 3 and the hawks have already died. Ditto the Washington game played in Kansas City. The hawks shot .250 from BTA scoring 23% of their points losing 65-74.

Good perimeter defense will be a key in beating KU and they have already lost 2 games in Lawrence and 1 in Kansas City. I think the Sooners can win at home or away against this Kansas team especially playing them early in Norman.

Gosh I hate the ESPNs contract, thought the game was at 7, turn it over to espnu, and they are talking up the lsu freshman waters, he's the only one to be top 5 in points, assists and steals! SORRY but leading in points and assists is more impressive than being top 5 in 3 categories, and your team has 3 more losses.

Yep. Nothing worse for the team than playing a late week night game in Manhattan. Reminds me of Billy Tubbs who just loved going there (sarcasm).

Two bad turnovers by Trae is why we're down 11-7 at the under 16 timeout.

I was hoping our defensive energy would be high tonight.....so far, it ain't happening. They are getting to the basket way too easy....will have to tighten that up.

7-11 at under 16. If we let them beat us off the dribble like that last play it will be a long night.
