UCLA will be a real test. They return 4 regular players from last year plus the picked up point guard Ledger-Walker from Washington State who was injured late in the season and was an all-Pac10 the previous year. They also added Kneepkins from Brigham Young who the Sooners was pursuing during the portal season.

Most of all they have 6-7 Lauren Betts who averaged over 20 points a game last year and was the Big 10 defensive player of the year with 100 blocks. They can have a quality lineup with a 6-4 wing and a 6-3 forward in addition to Betts. They usually knock off some top teams early in the season and fade a bit at the end of the season.

We will be a legit top 6 team or better if we beat them but we have to bring our A+ game to win. A key is if Beers can control Betts, but she is giving up 3 inches.

I personally think we match up with them pretty decently starting lineup wise, bench wise they got us beat. So our freshman’s, Beatrice and Caya will have to play well coming off the bench. OU’s starting 5 will have to play good defense, stay out of foul, make their free throws and be discipline on the boards. If we do all of those things or almost all of those things well I think we may have a chance to win. But any who, I think this game headline will be the Raegan Beers vs Lauren Betts show without doubts, or the two players to watch in that game without questions.

I think this game will/should be a well played game.

Agree it will be a battle of the bigs. It will be tough for Beers to finish as much as she normally she’ does, and they both may get in foul trouble. Hoping Betts and Not us. Freshmen have to shake the nerves early. We have to share the ball. We can’t live or die by jacking up 3’s.

Gotta play way, way better than they did against Belmont. Belmont may not be terrible, but for 60% of that game, OU was not very good.

I hope we can compete, and stay within 10 points. If we were able to beat them i'd be over the moon excited, but I just don't see it happening. They've got a very experienced, talented lineup with a ton of HEIGHT and depth that we just don't have this year. I'm sure at the end of the season if we played them it'd be much more interesting of a game (reference South Carolina game #1 vs. our second matchup w/them last year), but i just don't see it this early. I sure hope i'm wrong though!

They have 6 who play a lot of time. 5 of the six average 26 minutes up to 32 minutes for Jaquez. Betts played 26 in both games they have played. The other 3 averaged 28 or more. Very little play for the frosh even with two very comfortable wins. They have another very good player, Gardener who is on the roster but hasn't played
. If we go up tempo and they continue to play that many minutes we could have a 4th quarter advantage if we are still in the game at that point. We know that Baranczyk will go deep in the lineup to maintain that tempo.

I think areally tough game early will help the team however it turns out. We are a very experienced team and may surprise ucla. If not, it will help this see where they need to improve and how much they need to ratchet up their focus and intensity to compete with elite teams
