+++#9 Oklahoma (13-2, 3-1) vs. #16 TCU (13-3, 1-3) Game Thread+++

Cam McGusty finished with 3 points...0 rebounds.......we need all players to play consistently to win the Big 12

19-33 from 3-pt range. That would have been a tough loss to digest with those numbers. Missing the alley-oop dunk near the end of the game optimized our inability to make shots inside 5 feet, but I doubt that will happen again this year.

I loved the energy and perseverance when TCU looked like they were going to take control of the game, going up by 6 with 3-4 minutes left in regulation. It was great to see Khadeem firing up the crowd...they got louder late in the game and the team fed off that.

Not a bad performance under pressure for a team starring two freshmen.

Good win....TCU is a quality team. We shot the 3 well and Trae was magnificent (minus the TOs) even though I felt like our energy on defense was lacking pretty much all day. We can play so much better thus, it feels good to get out with a win without our best effort.

Agree. Trae was awesome most of the game but he did have some bad turnovers. Agree on D as well. Too lazy at times. You didn’t mention FTs but not great there either. Finally, I agree that we should always be thankful to get wins in games like that.

Amazing that Trae was 3-7 from the FT line. Normally hits close to 85-90% from the stripe. Goes to show you, he's human...

Incredible performance from BTA!

Trae needs to return until he can average 0 turnovers and shoot 100% on free throws in Big 12 play.

What is the word on 6-11 Hannas Polla from Finland? Redshirting? Is he a project, or will he contribute next year?

Yeah, if you want to fault Trae, it's that he tries too much to laser some passes into traffic, resulting in the TO. Of course, some of his turnovers today were the result of blown layups/bunnies.

I feel like I'm critical of Lattin too often, but it's so frustrating to see him miss layups at the rim and constantly fumble the ball and get stripped when he should be going up strong and throwing the defender's wrist through the rim. He's a good shot blocker, but what else does he do well?

Well, to answer your question, he fires up the crowd...and that's something we're going to miss next year. The crowd feeds off his energy, whether he's blocking shots or making hand gestures to get them off their feet. All teams need those types of energy players. Finally, he mostly takes high-percentage shots (even if he misses his fair share)...and he's dramatically improved his free throws, at least as of late.

No redshirt. He is raw but further along at the same stage as Jamuni was. I think he will contribute decently next season.

Play of the game might have been when Trae fouled out Brodziansky

Fair enough...

Were there any bball recruits at the game? I hadn't heard but I know most of you might know.

Yes, great win!

Just saw the interview with Rayford Young. When will he accept that his son is at OU and loves it? It seems like he always has to say or hint that he wanted Trae to go somewhere else or some place better. We get it Rayford, move on dude!
