Asia Robeson 6'4" from Detroit. Also considering Auburn, Texas and Colorado

Asia Robeson of Detroit, Mich., has a final five that consists of Auburn, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia Commonwealth. The class of 2014 post is a live athlete with good size and tremendous upside. Robeson took a visit to Colorado unofficially in early August.

well, i guess that means she got an offer. Hope she's good and she comes.

It does look like she has an offer. I could not find a great deal of information about her but it appears she is a very good rebounder.

I don't know if she has an offer...here is a little information I found on a Colorado board:

From the Kalamazoo Gazette : "2012-13 Girl's Dream Team" http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/ne...photo-gallery/ Asia Robeson, Kalamazoo Central, Junior: The 6-4 forward/center stuffed the stat sheet for the Maroon Giants (12-9). Kalamazoo Central coach Dan Thornton had her for 14.9 points, 14.2 rebounds, 9.7 blocks, 4.1 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Robeson, who is being recruited by Division I college programs, posted a whopping 13 triple-doubles this season.

Note the number of blocks.

The number of rebounds and blocks indicates she can really jump and is aggressive.

I'm impressed Sherri is finding a lot of size.

I saw on ProspectsNation that she did visit OU last weekend.

Not sure there is anything unusual about Ortiz committing on a Saturday. Players across the country are committing throughout each week. I think it just comes down to when recruits know what they want to do and are ready to announce it.

Sherri has sold women's basketball to a state that had cancelled the program for lack of interest. She has built a following that is almost completely independent of the following for other sports, many of whom still consider women's basketball inferior. You do this with sales technique, knowing how to make an impact, knowing when to draw on all resources.

Calling back into OU on a Saturday morning when a major recruit, one with which your name has been connected, happens to be visiting? That's coincidence?

What's the connection?

Along with Ortiz, this is the post player I would sure like to have. Reel her in Coach Coale!

Syb,
are you suggesting that Ortiz verbaled ahead of/during Robeson's visit so Sherri would be able to add as part of the recruiting pitch that Ortiz would be on the team, would be the PG to feed Robeson the ball. So that Robeson would see that she could be part of a talented incoming class?

It's possible.

Kind of. I had seen something suggesting that they were friends. Given that, it would be valuable to have a mild boost that such a commitment might provide. Improve the odds if at all possible.

I don't know if they are friends but they don't follow each other on Twitter.

If there was a plan to use Ortiz to influence Hillsman, I would think Sherri would have scheduled them to visit the same weekend and have Ortiz to commit then.
