well, i guess that means she got an offer. Hope she's good and she comes.
I don't know if she has an offer...here is a little information I found on a Colorado board:
From the Kalamazoo Gazette : "2012-13 Girl's Dream Team" http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/ne...photo-gallery/ Asia Robeson, Kalamazoo Central, Junior: The 6-4 forward/center stuffed the stat sheet for the Maroon Giants (12-9). Kalamazoo Central coach Dan Thornton had her for 14.9 points, 14.2 rebounds, 9.7 blocks, 4.1 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Robeson, who is being recruited by Division I college programs, posted a whopping 13 triple-doubles this season.
Note the number of blocks.
Which is why I found the timing of the Ortiz commitment interesting.I saw on ProspectsNation that she did visit OU last weekend.
Sherri has sold women's basketball to a state that had cancelled the program for lack of interest. She has built a following that is almost completely independent of the following for other sports, many of whom still consider women's basketball inferior. You do this with sales technique, knowing how to make an impact, knowing when to draw on all resources.
Calling back into OU on a Saturday morning when a major recruit, one with which your name has been connected, happens to be visiting? That's coincidence?
Kind of. I had seen something suggesting that they were friends. Given that, it would be valuable to have a mild boost that such a commitment might provide. Improve the odds if at all possible.Syb,
are you suggesting that Ortiz verbaled ahead of/during Robeson's visit so Sherri would be able to add as part of the recruiting pitch that Ortiz would be on the team, would be the PG to feed Robeson the ball. So that Robeson would see that she could be part of a talented incoming class?
It's possible.
