You cannot put out the ****show season that Sherri is putting out there and not expect things to change.
1. Should Sherri resign on her own?? Yes. It's time to move on. She's unraveling the great program she created.
This complete disaster of a season is all her fault. She controls every aspect of the program.
Recruiting the roster, managing the roster = F
Coaching = F
Player development = F
Staff management = F (so far Gasso appears to be the only coach that escape the nepotism death curse. It got Bob. Men's hoops appears infected. And Sherri had a legit chance to magically upgrade her coaching staff and hired her son. If I was JoeC I'd be implementing a no relative hiring policy right now before LR tries to hire his brother at some point. )
And let's be honest the incoming recruiting class is not so talented that it's going to magically fix things. The lack of length in the roster is still a massive problem. There's no Wayman Tisdale, Blake Griffin enrolling next year. So you lose Sherri and you lose a recruit or two?
BFD. The program is not going in the right direction anyway.
Sherri is so out of touch with running a championship program there's no way to project her ever winning a Big 12 title again. But as Bob proved walking away from that big paycheck and big ego is tough. So she won't resign even though she's burned out and has no idea how to right the ship any longer.
2. Will Joe C fire Sherri? I find it hard to believe Gallogly is not going to ask WTF is going on while he's purging the rest of the university.
I think the possibility exists if Sherri refuses to make changes that he may have no choice.
3. What changes must Sherri make to stay?
Staff Overhaul - fire Colton at a minimum
Recruiting Process Overhaul - down to the studs. The whole process. She needs to find a Drew Hill type person.
Social media/Marketing Overhaul - LR is the number one social media coach in the country. OU just signed their best football class in 15 years. And that's with total chaos on the defensive side of the ball.
The problem right now is not anger directed at the state of women's hoops. It's the level of apathy directed at women's hoops. No one really cares.
