Hey OU fans, first time poster here just chiming in on what should be a really fun game Friday!

At this point, I think it sounds like we're pretty similar size wise, and the Aztecs certainly underachieved this year in the eyes of the fans. Good news for us, a week off to get over any lingering injuries, as mentioned before, 3 of our better players had nagging issues all season, and with Xavier Thames finally coming back around we're a different team.

Word on the street you have a very skilled big man down low, as well as pretty soliud guard play. Should be a helluva game! Here's to a safe game and go 'Tecs!

Regarding the video, it's the game against UCLA when we beat them in the Wooden Classic.

Starting 5

Deshawn Stephens 23
JJ O'Brien 20
Jamaal Franklin 21
Chase Tapley 22
Xavier Thames 2

Key Reserves

Winston Shepard 13
James Rahon 11
Skylar Spencer 0

JP,

How long has Thomas been back from being injured?

OU's freshman guard, Budd Hield, broke a bone in his foot in February and just returned slowly during the past three games. It was interesting because OU was playing really good ball with him out, and seemingly struggled with him back. I really think that was more a coinsidence because he is a great team player who makes a ton of hustle plays (and is our best on the ball defender), but, it will be interesting to see how he and the team play on Friday.

Thames hurt is back on Jan 16 against UNLV (we lost at home) and he sat out most of Feb. This is when the Aztecs started to have problems that culminated in the team scoring only 9 pts in a half against WYO.

He has worked his way slowly back and now is in good form. He did have a spill in the MWC tourney and got up holding his back, but went on to play. He's good now. This team isn't as good when he's not playing at all. The problem is our backup guard, LB Franklin, wasn't being played because of our freshman 6'8" point/forward Shepard. LBF left the team and the Aztecs didn't have an answer.
