  • Steven Pledger: #121 overall in 2009 class
  • Andrew Fitzgerald: #70 overall in 2009 class
  • Cameron Clark: #34 overall in 2010 class
  • Buddy Hield: #86 overall in 2012 class
  • Jelon Hornbeak: #102 overall in 2012 class
  • DJ Bennett: #55 junior college player in 2012 class
  • Tyler Neal: Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, Unranked Nationally
  • Sam Grooms: #11 junior college player in country
  • Casey Arent: Unranked
  • Isiah Cousins: Unranked
  • Romero Osby: Honorable Mention All Big 12 last year
  • Amath M'Baye: Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year

This brings up 2 questions...

1.) Is the talent good enough to get into NIT or NCAA Tournament? Or is Kruger working with a bare cupboard?

2.) Why are Pledger, Fitz, Neal, and Clark still the exact same players they were 3 years ago? Either they have no ceilings, are busts, or got bad coaching at OU.

Just an aside, or a pet peeve of mine ... We should respect a player that works hard, stays in school all 4 years, stays off the police blotter, and eventually graduates. It strikes a raw nerve when a player like this is referred to as a "bust."

Juan Pattillo, TMG and Tiny Gallon may have been busts. None of the guys on the current OU roster qualify for that very derogatory description.

Now, back to the thread ...

But pledger and fitz have been on the police blotter

We need to recruit higher end talent the problem is Oklahoma is not ripe with talent. I would have liked to see us get the kid that ended up at Texas A&M J Mike Reese. We need to upgrade our recruitment plan!

Watched Reese a couple times already this year. He's not very good

We should finish 9-3 pre conference, and win 8,9, or 10 in conference. So -NIT is a very good bet. If we do a bit better, win at Arkansas and Oral Roberts, then 9 or 10 in conference may put is in the dance.
