Afew preseason questions

Like all of you I've read all the posts about the team. As always there are a lot of questions the answers to which will decide how well we do. Mine are in order of importance:
Will Cam become the player we all want? (And need?)
Will the "new" Fitz" play good defense and rebound well?
Is M'Baye as good as advertised? (Should be #2).
The freshmen will sort themselves out but all seem to be just what we need. I'm impressed with what has happened the last eighteen months or so compared to what I was feeling before Capel was fired. I couldnt see any daylight then. I would be willing to bet serious money that we will make the tourney this year.

j2d2, I'm not sure anyone can answer all of your questions without at least a hint of uncertainty. I'll give it my best shot, though.

The reports that Cam has improved his shooting technique and appears to be more determined on defense than ever are true. I left him out of my comments on Saturday's practice. But I liked what I saw, and believe he's ready to have a breakout season. Time will tell if that's an accurate assessment.

On Fitz, I can tell you for sure that he looks the part of a leaner, quicker player to me. I saw him do things in the scrimmage that he could never have done last year, especially with the quickness he put on display. I fully expect Drew to do a lot more than take fifteen and in jump shots this year. His improved foot speed should also help to keep him out of early foul trouble.

I'm not the least bit worried about M'Baye. He looks like the read deal to me. I also value the opinion of several members here, who all say the same thing about Amath. He may not light up the scoreboard or wow audiences to start the season, just as Osby didn't last year. But by halfway through the season, everyone knew why Ro was said to be the best player on our roster the year he sat out after transferring from MSU. I believe we'll see the same thing with M'Baye this year.

I certainly didnt make myself clear. The questions I posed seem to me to be the biggest questions we have- the most important. If they are answered in the affirmative then we are in the tourney for sure.
