AK arrested again

That death has sent him in a spiral. Hope someone can save him!

He's a bad kid. He didn't hurt us last year, and he won't hurt us this year.

Onward and upward.

His picture has now been removed from last years roster.

It might have helped if Manyang had something like a midnight curfew. The incident in Norman and the latest incident in Rochester both occurred in the wee hours of the morning.

I visited a bit with Manyang in the Lubbock hotel lobby before the Texas Tech game. He seemed like such a nice friendly young man. Of course in that situation he was not "drunk and belligerent" as described in the latest incident.

I'm sure the coaches constantly tell the guys to conduct themselves with class off the court. Unfortunately, Manyang did not have the wisdom and discipline to represent the university in the proper manner. This is made even more tragic given that good examples of "taking care of business" were set by his OU teammates.

I sincerely hope Manyang learns from these mistakes and does better in the future.

He seems terribly troubled. He was in rehab earlier in his life, IIRC, as was his brother prior to his death.

I hope he finds his way back to a healthy, happy and productive life. He's dealt with a lot of heartbreak.

Coach Selmon used to always say that nothing good happens after midnight. Get your butt home.

Hopefully, he can recover and be a productive citizen.
From this announcement, I infer that he had been suspended a month ago, but with this act he is officially gone. I guess Lon was going to see what happened over the summer before making the final decision.

In a radio interview with James Hale several weeks ago, Coach Kruger said that Akolda Manyang would not be back on the team. The door was closed after the incident in Norman.

This times a billion. I hope he's able to find the help he so clearly needs.

when you do criminal defense work one of the first things you pour thru are the police reports - until you figure out they are a bunch of lies.

anyway ... on Hall's misdemeanor docket I'd say roughly 70% of the incidents that led to their arrests happened between midnite and 6 a.m.. I routinely advise clients that an arrest may be avoided simply by not driving between those times. Police pull you over for things late at night that they would let go earlier in the day ... just looking for pretext.
