All Big 12 : 3/3 edition

Lol @ this nonsense about lil brother being some great team. They are a borderline top 25 team and inferior to us. Yeah we slipped up and gave away leads in Stillwater & Austin but we're clearly the better team.

Next season the gap only widens.

Withey, McLemore, Osby, Smart and McGruder. Brown is a good player but won't be first team. Jackson might be picked ahead of Mclemore or Smart.

Voting aside, if you let me have the first 5 picks, I'm taking: Withey at the 5, Osby at the 4, Mclemore at the 3, smart at the 2 and Jackson at the point.

I really like Pierre Jackson... kid is really tough and a very good college player.

Overrated? Brown is the most underrated player in the league. Nobody talks about him unless he made Sportcenter top 10. And I doubt Smart is the reason Brown is shooting 40+% from 3 this year.

Maybe overrated is not the right word. He is a very good player and has improved by leaps and bounds but I think his numbers are a little inflated because of playing next to Smart. Smart makes players around him better and Brown has benefitted from having him as a teammate. If you take Smart off the team and have someone like Guerrero at PG, Brown's attempts would be up but his shooting and production would be down, IMO. Again, a very nice player but not 1st team all-conference. I think he will next season, though.

I'm with you Baden -- Brown is neither underrated or overrated. He is just a good improved player. Smart is making everyone on that team look better, that is what makes him special.

Brown needs to continue to improve and really work on his decision making under pressure, and he could really have a high ceiling. I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat.

Different thread, but he absolutely wouldn't deserve 1st team All big 12 over Smart, JMO.

If Osby doesn't get first team it will be a travesty. Currently, in conference games, he is:

3rd in scoring (1st among post players)
5th in rebounding
3rd in FG%
5th in FT% (1st among post players)

All in only 27.7 minutes per game

Glad we're on the same page. He's earned a 1st-team bid.

Watching some of the Texas/Baylor game and Fran has Jackson first team over Osby. In fairness to him, he said he wish he had room for Osby and Brown.

I agree that Jackson is very talented but I don't see how you can elevate him over either Osby or Brown; and certainly not Osby. I'd like to see a stat on Jackson to see how many points he has scored once they get far behind. It would be different if he was bringing them all the way back but he is not. He probably would be on my first team if he was playing for a different coach.

such a joke ... under 42 percent shooter under .77 from the line less than 2-1 to ratio

yeah he scores a bunch he takes 14 shots a game

PER Osby is 1st in the big 12 ... jackson is 7th not surprising jackson has the highest usage in the big 12

then you look at 6th place not dancing team vs 4th place team at worst and it is not a close choice .. in fact i would say only withy (2nd in PER) would be ahead of Osby on the all big 12 team

JAckson over osby is weird only b/c of the difference in position.

Not sure why you guys don't want to give Jackson any credit. He is putting up poy numbers

19 points on 14 shots isn't bad

If you do the math...

Osby averages .66 points per minute, and averaged out to 40 minutes would be 25 PPG.
Also, I agree with Bounce, Jackson is a great player.
Whereas, Jackson averages about .55 points per minute, and averaged out to 40 minutes would be 22 PPG. Makes no sense for Ro to be overlooked. Intact he should be getting some nods for POY.

He definitely has a strong case. I knew his PER was good but I did not know it was the best in the league and 26th in the country. His production and leadership are not just worthy of all-conference but also merits strong POY consideration.
