Still half asleep so forgive me if I whiff

Mason
Buddy
Perry Ellis
Niang
Gathers - leading the nation in rebounding/game

Others - Staten, Nash, Monte Morris, Prince

Always seems positions don't really matter on these things.
Thoughts?

weird year in the Big 12. Looks like the players who will be better pro's in the long run are not even on the 1st team.

Ok 2nd Team:

Mason
Morris
Nash
Williams (WVU)
Turner (UT)

3rd Team:
Forte
Williams (KSU)
Spangler
Prince
Mckay

Best of Rest: Cousins, Selden, Foster, Taylor, Anderson

the Turner kid at Texas is the best player in the league, only thing holding him back is Rick Barnes. Sure hope Turner leaves and Rick stays

I'm not sure Perry Ellis is first team, but I don't have a problem with him being there either. You could sub any of the guys you listed as "others" for him as well and it would be ok. And the 4 remaining would certainly be on the second team.

I was the same way with Ellis. Didn't have him on at first but no way KU doesn't get two.

Staten
Hield
Niang
Ellis
Gathers

Hield and Gathers are the only 2 I consider automatic. Others:

Spangler
Morris
Turner
Forte
Williams (KState)

I guess I'm in the minority thinking Cousins deserves all conference (2nd or 3rd team) honors over Spangler.

I went back and forth on those two but spanglers consistency won out for me.

I can't believe how little love Spangler is getting from OU fans.

He is playing really well. He leads the conference in field goal percentage. He is a top 20 scorer, number 3 in rebounding and number 5 in blocked shots. I could get other fan bases not giving him love but I would think OU fans would take notice of how well he plays (notwithstanding his last game).

Aside from my opinion, Spangler is the only other Sooner mentioned in this thread as deserving of All Conference. I can't think of any Sooner fans on this board or any person I've talked OU basketball with as under appreciated what Ryan has done in the least.

And just to make a case for Cousins, he's also top 20 in scoring, top 15 in rebounds, #1 in 3pt percentage, and arguably has a case has the best wing defender in the conference.
