Of course BG will get his share of offensive boards, IMO. I believe that he will be close to Gasol's pts, pass Gasol's boards and blocks, and be a little below Gasol's assists. Blake should shatter his steals avg....

I'm probably the one who'll be laughed at for saying this, but how anyone can think that Dwight Howard is a better athlete than Blake Griffin is simply beyond my comprehension. Howard is probably the best player at his position in the NBA today. What makes him great is a combination of size, brute strength and sufficient mobility to dominate most other big men in the league. Dwight possesses great NBA skills, but Blake is by far the better athlete – and in a matter of just a few years (barring injuries/health issues) he'll also be the better all-around player.

Go ahead; fire away!

To say he is "by far the better athlete" is pushing it. I think all around Blake is a better athlete in that he is more agile and has way better lateral movement. He isn't more explosive off the ground than Howard though I would say they are close to equal there. The difference is that Howard has 5 inches on BG in the wingspan department.

See I told you guys Gasol couldn't get you 30-40 when you needed it ... he only got 29 for the Lakers last night and carried them to victory. ha ha

Anyway we'll see how long this Yao Ming only plays 24 minutes stuff lasts.

So let the Blake vs Gasol comparisons start tonight. Let's go Blake, you need to put up 44 combined points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks & get the W. I think he's going to get it done.

Gasol looked timid early, then he fell into his rythm in the 2nd half. I often wonder what type of numbers Odom could put up if b-ball became a love for him... Dude is a freak with alot of talent.

You're right, grace; Howard's arms ARE much longer. Anyone would be an idiot not to recognize the talent that Dwight Howard is. But I'll stand by my assertion that Blake is a "far better" athlete.

Blake definitely has better coordination than Howard. That's pretty easy to see.

Howard reminds of the OU football players I used to play against in the Huff. Most of them could fly up and down the court and jump a foot over the rim, but their shot made Dennis Rodman look like Ray Allen. Now Keith Jackson ... he was a couple inches from being Charles Barkley.

The problem is there is no way to quantify 'far better' in this case. You aren't comparing Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman. There probably isn't a guy in the world that is a 'far better' athlete than Dwight Howard. The guy is a freak of nature.

Not to mention you don't give any reasoning for your assertion so there isn't really much to fire away at. Anyone can make a ridiculous claim. Back it up with you thoughts on why and we have a discussion.

Saying that Blake is a far better athlete than Dwight Howard is possibly the most ridiculous thing ever stated in this or any other forum. Dwight is a freak of nature and there isnt anybody in the world that is a far better athlete than him.

As for Pau, he was awesome last night as usual. 29 points, 11 rebounds on a loaded championship team... He is freakin awesome and the arguably the best forward in the world.
